    Giving Back

    1. Fain Signature Group and the Fain Family held an event on Sept. 26 to show appreciation to the agencies, municipalities and individuals that responded to the fire that destroyed the 329-unit Legado apartment development under construction in Prescott Valley earlier this year. The honorees included:

    • Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office;
    • Town of Prescott Valley;
    • Prescott Regional Communications Center;
    • Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management;
    • Prescott Valley Police Department;
    • Prescott Police Department;
    • Prescott Fire Department;
    • Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority;
    • Cottonwood Fire Department;and
    • Yavapai County Attorney’s Office.

    Fain Signature Group recognized the individual agencies involved by gifting each organization with a commemorative display using bricks and wood salvaged from the fire.

    2. The Sundt Foundation celebrated its 25th anniversary by giving the Military Assistance Mission a $25K grant. A total of $300K in grants was given out to nonprofits in Sundt’s 12 giving communities.

    3. Achen-Gardner Construction, LLC used social media to thank its dedicated employee-owners and construction professionals as a part of Construction Appreciation Week.

    Awards & Accolades

    4. The City of Tempe’s Hometown for All initiative has been honored nationally for its work expanding affordable housing in Tempe. The initiative received the award from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. The initiative will also be included in NAHRO’s Best Practices Database as a resource bank for significant, innovative activities. To date, the initiative has resulted in $9.4M in City investments, $3.7M in donations received and $18.6M in pledged funds. Tempe voters have the opportunity to fund an increased supply of affordable housing through the 2024 Special Bond Election on Nov. 5.

    5. Tempe’s General Plan 2050 was awarded “Best General Plan for a jurisdiction of over 50,000” by the Arizona chapter of the American Planning Association.

    6. The Arizona Masonry Council recently bestowed its 33rd Annual Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards. Paul Scott, who retired from Caruso Turley Scott in 2022, was the recipient of the Bart Del Duca Award. Kate McKuen, a senior at Canyon del Oro High School in Tucson, was also recognized.

    7. The Sundt Construction, Inc. project team was the recipient of the quarterly general contractor safety award from Aligned Adaptive Data Centers. The award recognized Sundt’s strong safety management practices.

    Promotions

    8. Sundt Construction, Inc. promoted Cade Rowley to President and Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Rowley will serve as a leader of all operational strategy and execution, overseeing each of the company’s seven business units. Prior to being named President and COO, Rowley served as President of Sundt’s Industrial Group.

    New Hires

    9. Kidder Mathews hired Peggy Maxwell as senior VP and market leader of Asset Services. Maxwell will oversee business development, client relations and daily operations for the division in Phoenix. Maxwell brings more than 24 years of experience, having managed a diverse portfolio of industrial, office, retail, medical and mixed-use properties.

    10. B&F Contracting, Inc. hired Chad Jackson as Director of Pre-Construction. Chad has more than 20 years of leadership experience in heavy civil and utility construction.

    11. Colliers Engineering & Design recently appointed:

    • Jason Beller, Cultural Resource Crew Chief;
    • Cat Villella, Project Archeologist; and
    • Tristan Stevens, Project Engineer — Land Development.

    12. Kovach hired Tierney Encinias as its Business Development Specialist. Encinias will be responsible for developing strategies to increase qualified leads, investigating market segment penetration and providing long-term customer value. She serves as the Co-Chair of the Build Her Up Committee for American Subcontractors Association of Arizona and is on its events committee.

    13. American Subcontractors Association Arizona has hired Madeline Santin as its new Events Coordinator.
