    Giving Back

    1. The Greater Phoenix Chapter of IFMA will host a “Casino Night” beneficiary holiday party sponsored by TEPCON Construction at Arizona Biltmore on Dec. 14 from 5 – 9 p.m. Proceeds benefit Child Crisis Arizona.

    2. Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR hosted its 29th annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser last month to support youth charities across southern Arizona. The event broke last year’s record for donations, exceeding the initial target and raising more than $168.7K.

    Awards & Accolades

    3. AZ Big Media has published its PTK Spotlight: Arizona Industrial Brokers to Know in 2024. The list consists of:

    • Eric Bell Executive VP, Kidder Matthews;
    • Marc Hertzberg Executive Managing Director, JLL;
    • Phil Haenel Executive Managing Director, Cushman & Wakefield;
    • Melissa Marks Associate VP, Colliers in Arizona; and
    • John Werstler Executive VP, CBRE.

    4. Sara Yehia of Kenzy Architects was honored with the AIA10 Award at the AIA Arizona Awards Gala. The award is presented to those licensed for fewer than 10 years and recognizes individuals for exceptional leadership.

    Boards & Commissions

    5. Arizona Builders Alliance announced the appointment of Kim Davids as the new President. Davids served on the ABA Board of Directors and as its Interim President prior to her new appointment.

    Promotions

    6. GLHN Architects & Engineers has announced changes within its executive leadership team:

    • Donna Mertes has been promoted to President;
    • William Koller is now Director of Mechanical Engineering;
    • Stanley Yellowhair has been named Department Manager of Mechanical Engineering; and
    • Howard Wolchansky has assumed the role of Department Manager of Electrical Engineering.

    The announcement says the changes coincide with both GLHN’s 60th Anniversary and its strategic plan to cultivate growth.

    7. The Opus Group has named Matthew Visnansky as its new VP and General Manager of Real Estate Development in Phoenix.

    New Hires

    8. P.B. Bell announced the hiring of Michelle Jenson as its new Chief Property Officer.

    9. Evergreen Devco recently announced two new hires. Cara Cunningham has joined the firm as a Retail Leasing Assistant, and Tyriah Pryor has come on as an Accounts Payable Specialist.

    10. Michael DeCarlo has joined Integrity Building Corp. as Pre-construction Manager.

    11. Greenlight Communities announced the addition of Andy Paulus to its team in the role of Acquisitions Manager.

    12. NAI Horizon has announced the addition of retail specialist Lance Sherwood to the firm as a Senior Associate.

    Retirements, In Memoriam and Departures

    13. Former Mohave County Economic Development Authority Executive Director Don Van Brunt has passed away at age 94. Despite a controversial history, Van Brunt was credited with bringing hundreds of millions of dollars in development to the county in the 1990s.

    14. Tedmond Soltis has resigned as Camp Verde Town Manager. He began his duties in August. The departure was announced in a special session of the Town Council Nov. 17. Town Marshal Corey Rowley will serve as Acting Town Manager, and recruitment for Soltis’ full-time replacement will be discussed in a future Council meeting.
