    Giving Back

    1. Nonprofit Homeward Bound and McCarthy Building Companies recently celebrated the completion of a laundry room renovation at the Thunderbird’s Family Village on West Colter Street in Phoenix. Called the “Loads of Love” project and enabled by an in-kind donation from McCarthy, the project will improve the quality of life for Homeward Bound residents.

    2. The Arizona Masonry Council hosted the 2023 Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards. Category winners are:

    • Monument/Entry Way Citation Awards: Jorde Farms North Entry Monument, Combs Ranch Monument/Entry;
    • Residential Perimeter Walls Citation Award: Alamar Perimeter Walls;
    • Residential Citation Awards: Lot 16 Pinnacle Peak Vistas, Mountain Modern Retreat, The Artist’s Retreat;

    3. Central Arizona Project has received a 2023 Government Experience Project Award from the Center for Digital Government in the special district category for redesigning CentralArizonaProject.com.

    4. Coreslab Structures Arizona is celebrating 35 years of being an industry leader in precast concrete innovation. Coreslab Structures Arizona will host an open house later this month.

    Promotions

    5. RED Development recently announced three promotions:

    • Brett Heron has been promoted to Managing Partner, Finance,
    • April Fischer has been promoted to Executive VP, Asset Management, and
    • Andy Metrz has been promoted to Senior VP, Corporate Finance and Accounting.

    6. Ryan Companies US Inc. recently announced two promotions. Anna Griffin and Sara Hudoba have both been named Director of Construction.

    7. Velocity Retail Group has promoted Brad Ranly as VP in the Brokerage Division.

    8. CBRE has promoted Tanner Ferrandi and Ben Farthing to VPs in the Phoenix office.

    9. EPS Group, Inc. announced the promotion of Aliza Sabin to Planning and Landscape Architecture Interim Department Manager.

    New Hires

    10. The City of Buckeye has hired Bret Hodne as Director of Public Works.

    11. RestorationHQ announced Scott Rutkowski as its new President.

    12. Dan Krantz has joined ORION Investment Real Estate as a Senior VP.

    13. FCL Builders has hired Jordan Lovrich as Project Manager and Mark Dorsey as Superintendent.

    14. W.E. O’Neil Construction has hired Brandon Dorf as Project Engineer.

    15. Mike Carson has joined Brinckmann Constructors as Senior Preconstruction Manager.

    Retirements and Departures

    16. Bill Jabjiniak will retire from his role as City of Mesa Economic Development Director effective Nov. 2 and will transition to an undisclosed position in the private sector. He has served in the position since October 2007.

    17. David Adame has resigned as President and CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa. Alicia Nuñez will serve as Acting President and CEO until a permanent replacement is named.
