    Boards & Commissions 

    1. Five Maricopa Board members – two returning and three new – were sworn in at the Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board meeting Jan. 5. The members are: Ylenia Aguilar, Alexandra Arboleda, Benjamin Graff, Amanda Monize and Barbara Seago. Additionally, the Board and members of the public celebrated the legacy of Ted Cooke as this was his last meeting as General Manager before retirement. Brenda Burman assumed her role as CAP’s General Manager following Cooke’s retirement. 

    2. Arizona Multihousing Association has announced its 2023 officers and board members.

    4. Ted Yokum has been selected as the new Chair of the Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission. Bill Robertson is the Vice Chair. 

    5. Center for JOC Excellence has announced its 2023 National Board of Directors. Telma Bearden, Central Arizona Project, will serve as Past Chair, and Parrish Rowland, Willmeng, will serve as Treasurer, and Deb Sandoval, Riddle Painting, is a Member. 

    Company News 

    6. Several leadership changes have been announced at developer El Dorado Holdings, Inc. While not retiring or leaving the firm, founder Michael Ingram is stepping down as CEO. He will be replaced by the current President Jim Kenny. Filling the president’s role will be VP Chris Grogan. 

    7. The Window and Door Store has expanded its Scottsdale showroom. The new and improved showroom, which is located at 7625 E. Redfield Road, is designed like a residential home, with full-sized, operational and finished products on display. 

    Promotions 

    8. LGE Design Build  announced the promotion of Michael Stafford to the position of President, replacing David Sellers who will now exclusively act in the role of CEO. In his new role, Stafford will be responsible for executing LGE’s short- and long-term goals including its continued growth in its primary markets, growth into new markets and expansions into new product offerings. 

    9. Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR announced that on Jan. 1, Joey Martinez achieved Principal status, joining the employee-owned firm’s 13 active company shareholders. Martinez joined C&W | PICOR in 2019. 

    10. Three sales professionals in CBRE‘s Phoenix office have achieved title promotions. Mark Krison has been promoted to Executive VP. Luke Krison and Andrew Brigham have been promoted to First VP. 

    New Hires 

    11. Henry Darwin has been chosen as the City of Peoria’s new City Manager. Darwin is an environmental lawyer and has served as COO for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Peoria CFO Kevin Burke will serve as Acting City Manager until Darwin starts work on Jan. 30. 

    12. Cynthia Lujan has joined Landmark Title Assurance Agency as VP of Sales, Arizona.  

    13. Patty Demers has joined the Arizona Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America as Director of Industry Relations and Member Engagement. 

    14. JE Dunn Construction announced the addition of Kim Guerin as Marketing Manager in its Phoenix office. 

    15. Cushman & Wakefield has added two brokers to its industrial sales and leasing teams in Phoenix. Joining the firm are Micki Strain, Managing Director, and Foster Bundy, Senior Associate. Sarah Baleanu (not pictured), Brokerage Specialist, has also recently joined Cushman & Wakefield in Phoenix and will provide industrial teams administrative support. 

    16. Northmarq has added Build-to-Rent financing expert Shannon Hersker as Senior VP to the company’s Phoenix debt/equity team.
