    Giving Back

    1. During its quarterly grant disbursements, the Sundt Foundation donated $82,308 to 18 Phoenix-area charities. Four nonprofits, Arizona Helping Hands, Dress for Success Phoenix, Soldier’s Best Friend and Treasure House, each received a $7,500 grant. Nonprofits that received smaller grants include:

    • Arizona Association for Foster & Adoptive Parents,
    • Arizona Pet Project,
    • Arizona Safe Baby Haven Foundation,
    • Brighter Way Institute,
    • Christ Child Society of Phoenix,
    • Mom’s Pantry Phoenix,
    • Control Alt Delete,
    • Elder TLC,
    • F.O.R. Maricopa,
    • Gabriel’s Angels,
    • Nourish Phoenix,
    • Scott Foundation,
    • Upward for Children and Families, and
    • Waste Not AZ.

    Boards & Commissions

    2. Arizona Self-Storage Association recently announced its 2022-2023 leadership team and re-elected board members.

    AZSA’s 2022-2023 leadership team comprises:

    • Jeff Gorden, The Gorden Companies, President;
    • Ray McRae, AMSMC/ Storage Solutions, VP;
    • Whitney Jurjevich, Owner/Operator, Ameri-Park RV & Boat Storage, Treasurer; and
    • Carol Mixon, SkilCheck Services, Secretary.

    Re-elected board members include:

    • David Brown, Wentworth Property Company;
    • Matt Hall, Stadium Properties;
    • Belinda Rosthenhausler, CDC Small Business Finance;

    3. The Maricopa Economic Development Alliance has appointed Dr. Frederick Johnson of Exceptional Healthcare Hospital to its board of directors. MEDA also named Adam Hawkins of Global External Relations and Julie Willoughby of Exceptional Community Hospital as advisory directors.

    Company News

    4. US LBM has acquired Truss Fab Companies, a lumber supplier and builder of roof and floor trusses and wall panels for customers in Arizona and across the Southwest.

    5. Gilbert-based HDA Architects has finalized a merger with COLE Architects, a Northwest-based firm with offices in Boise, Idaho and Bend, Oregon. HDA Architects will retain their current personnel and office location but will now operate under one ownership team.

    Promotions

    6. Chelsea Wardrop has been promoted to Partner on the executive leadership team of Arcadia Management Group.

    7. Francesca Martin has been selected for the Small Business Workforce Development Officer position at the Arizona Department of Transportation. As the SBWD Officer she will support On the Job Training Supportive Services, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Supportive Services, and the DBE Certification Program.

    8. Ian McGaughey has been promoted from Deputy Yuma County Administrator to Yuma County Administrator. He replaces the recently retired Susan Thorpe.

    New Hires

    9. Former Eloy City Manager Harvey Krauss has been hired to serve as the Town of Florence’s new Economic Development Director and Senior Planner.
