Groundbreakings
1. IDM Companies announced construction has commenced on Acero Queen Creek Station, a 476-unit multifamily apartment community at the NWC of S. Ellsworth Loop and E. Rittenhouse Roads, Queen Creek. BMA Architecture is the design firm and IDM Companies is the general contractor.
2. Anthem Community Council officials broke ground on a $1.44M renovation to expand the existing area skatepark on Gavilan Peak Parkway and Anthem Way and allow a combined space for bicycles, scooters and skateboards. The project is expected to be complete in either December or January.
Progress Reports
3. The new 238-room, eight-story Hyatt Place Phoenix/Downtown hotel is set to open in the heart of Phoenix’s revitalized downtown area in September of 2021. The property has a full-service restaurant, 24-hour dining, 24-hour fitness and is surrounded by a vibrant neighborhood. Pacific Hospitality Group is the owner and Mortenson is the developer and general contractor. Allen + Philp Partners is the design firm.
Completions
4. Johnson Carlier Construction recently completed construction of the two-story parking deck attached to Yavapai County Criminal Justice and Detention Center. Located in historic Downtown Prescott, the 52.8KSF structure replaces the old parking lot and adds 147 stalls.
5. The Buckeye Elementary School District recently opened the 95KSF John S. McCain III Elementary School at 247th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. The elementary school honors John throughout the campus by putting his name on the wall, and he is represented throughout hallways, murals, and the overall structure of the building. Orcutt | Winslow was the design firm and Chasse Building Team was the general contractor.
