    Company News

    3. Negotiations are nearly complete for Olsson to acquire Premier Engineering Corporation (Premier). The acquisition will combine Premier’s operations with Olsson’s full scope of engineering consulting disciplines. The acquisition is anticipated to close on March 22nd, 2021, when Premier will become Olsson & Premier. On January 1st, 2022, the company will fully take on the Olsson name.

    4. The Arizona Self-Storage Association is celebrating 25 years of promoting and strengthening the self-storage industry in Arizona. Founded in 1996, the AZSA was created to present a unified voice on issues affecting the industry in the state and in its communities. AZSA continues that mission 25 years later with more than 400 storage operator and vendor members representing more than 600 self-storage businesses.

    5. SmartRent announced a strategic investment led by Lennar Corp. worth $31M to help expand its line of products for homebuilders. SmartRent has already been working with Lennar to offer self-guided tours of model homes, but this new investment means Lennar-built homes can be constructed with Alloy SmartHome tech throughout.

    Promotions

    6. LSW Engineers AZ, Inc. has promoted Kamille Mabee to a Principal of the firm. Mabee started at LSW in 2008 and became Secretary/Treasurer in 2013. She serves as the company’s business manager and oversees daily operations.

    7. W.E. O’Neil Construction announced the promotion of Jason Jordan to Vice President of Operations, Randy Klauss to Vice President of Preconstruction, Martie Swann to Senior Project Manager, Brody Haskins to Senior Estimator and Alan Gonzalez to Assistant Superintendent.

    8. LSW Engineers AZ, Inc. announced Rick D’Andrea was recently promoted to Associate. D’Andrea started with the firm in early 2019 as a mechanical engineer and has been providing value to his clients and colleagues since. D’Andrea will continue to spearhead upcoming projects while focusing on making his client’s lives easier.

    9. With more than 20 years of civil engineering experience, Tim Stout PE, LEED AP has launched the land development practice for Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc. in Phoenix, where he joins an established environmental health and safety (EH&S) compliance team. He moved from the firm’s Philadelphia office, where he managed design teams and approval processes for numerous land-development projects locally and internationally.

    10. Burns & McDonnell promoted Kevin Keim to transmission manager in Arizona. In this role, Keim leads a team of engineers to deliver critical power infrastructure throughout the Southwest. He has more than a decade of experience supporting utilities, municipalities and more, providing communities with reliable energy systems as we experience growth in our populations and a shift towards renewable generation.

    New Hires

    11. Stantec recently added two key principals to its healthcare team in Phoenix to provide a full-spectrum healthcare practice in Arizona and the greater Southwest region. Matt Lafflam is joining the firm as a healthcare principal architect, while Michael Williams joins as a senior medical planner. The pair have worked together for several years and bring a focus on lean design and construction for the healthcare market, with additional design expertise in modular construction.

    12. Dr. Bibhuti Panda (“BB”) recently joined ACS Services LLC as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and has more than 25 years of professional experience in the geotechnical, transportation, mining, and hydrogeology fields. Dr. Panda has authored numerous published articles, presented at various conferences, and was involved in the globally acclaimed Hoover Dam Bypass Project.

    13. ABI Multifamily has added two new brokers to the Phoenix team. Tyler Bruggman and Bryce Neagle joined the Phoenix office of ABI in February.

    14. Robbie Knight has joined BH DevCo as Senior Director of Development Services. In his new role, Robbie is responsible for realizing build-to-suit development opportunities, from due diligence and design, through to construction, completion, and project turnover.
