Giving Back
1. Stantec is assisting the community of Taylor with a comprehensive drainage project for the town’s economically critical Taylor Rodeo Grounds in partnership with Engineers Without Borders USA. Stantec is assisting with drainage system design and flood mitigation services to help minimize the impact of storm events on the rodeo’s operations for the town’s more than 4,000 residents.
Groundbreakings
2. A project to preserve the pavement and make improvements along a 12-mile section of US 191 east of Safford began on Monday, Sept. 10. Drivers on a section of US 191 between US 70 and SR 75 should expect significant delays between mileposts 139 and 151 through early 2019.
Progress Reports
3. The last of the structural concrete poured late last week at The Stewart, a high-rise residential development on Central Avenue and McKinley Street. With the topping out, developers plan to begin delivering units by the end of this year.
4. September marks the start of the final six months on the $128M I-10 and Ina Road Improvements project in Pima County that began in February 2017, with completion scheduled by early March. The last major piece is the construction of exit and entrance ramps on westbound I-10 connecting to Ina Road.
5. With the 2018/19 school year officially underway, GLHN Architects & Engineers, Inc. is in the final stages of completion on the first phase of interior and exterior improvements to the Catalina Foothills High School. This phase includes the Music Hall Lobby, Music Hall and Little Theater lighting, library lighting, building re-keying, and renovation of half of the 40-acre campus classrooms, and restroom facilities.
