A new 61.4KSF family entertainment center is planned in Mesa next to Sprouts Farmers Market in Longbow Marketplace near McDowell and Recker roads at the NWC of Recker and Longbow Parkway.

Longbow is a master-planned mixed-use development planned for office, industrial, multifamily and retail uses, among others. A primary attraction includes a highly rated 18-hole golf course.

Billed as a โ€œnext generationโ€ facility in the project narrative submitted to the city, FatCats bills itself as a โ€œcenter where most of the popular forms of family entertainment are all located under one roof.โ€

The Mesa development will include an eight-screen โ€œrecline and dineโ€ movie theater, a 20-lane bowling alley, arcade area, bar and restaurant space, a nine-hole โ€œglow golfโ€ glow-in-the-dark miniature golf attraction, virtual reality area and party rooms.

FatCats has locations in Arizona, Idaho, Colorado and Utah, where the company is based. FC Mesa LLC is purchasing the 7.3 acres adjacent to Sprouts for the project.

According to the proposal, FatCats will conform to the Longbow Design Guidelines established for the marketplace. The Longbow-centric finishes include a pebble-aesthetic, smooth-face CMU; bronze-toned stucco and grey metal panels. Applied finishes specific to the project will be a blend of greys, browns and white.

Maximum building height for the entertainment center will be 48 feet at its tallest point. A total of 472 parking spaces, 38 more than required, will be provided. These include 12 ADA-compliant spaces.

The Mesa Design Review Board heard the request at its Sept. 11 meeting. The Planning & Zoning Commission heard and approved the site plan review Sept. 19.

There is already a fatcats 8 miles/15minutes south!

Well if its going to happen please, please make an effort to beautify the parking lot with lots of large islands with mesquite trees, and add more land/trees at the edge of longbow drive by the sidewalk. Nothing worse than another huge empty parking lot.

472 parking spaces!!!! Thats more parking area than actual business. The trend is to stream the latest movies at home with your family/friends.

How about outdoor mini golf? The indoor glow in the dark is kind of boring. It would be nice if they had something besides arcade games…?? Not sure what though

Negative comments about local business. Wow it creates jobs, entertainment, money for other businesses. Stay home and leave the movers and shakers alone. Looking forward to opening. And good luck.
