Salem, Oregon-based Link Senior Development is planning a new 211.5KSF senior care facility at the NWC of Yuma Road and Sundance Parkway in Buckeye called Sundance Senior Living.
The site is located at 22150 Sundance Parkway, which is south of the Sundance Golf Clubhouse in the Sundance Community Master Plan.
Ankrom Moisan Architects, the applicant and architect for the project, recently submitted a site plan to the City of Buckeye for approval on behalf of Link Senior Development.
Sundance Senior Living campus will consist of a single building ranging from one to three stories in height. The building will house 102 independent living, approximately 75 assisted living and 30 memory care units along with common areas and amenities such as a commercial kitchen, multiple dining area, residential laundry facilities and more.
The building’s design is, “utilizing a Southwest mission style architectural vernacular providing finished stucco detailing, darker vinyl windows decorative iron details and supportive tower elements on the main building,” according to the documents submitted to the city. “The main building is designed to provide a more formal entry and covered drop off connecting to supportive commons and community spaces. Residential wings radiate out from the hub to allow for shorter walking distances from individual residential units to dining and group activity spaces.”
Pathways will interconnect throughout the site including to outdoor spaces and amenities such as a community pool, gazebo, fitness areas, courtyards, and gardens.
Access to the property will be from Yuma Road with another access point from Sundance Parkway North. While the current development code requires 290 parking spaces, Link Senior Development is looking for an exception in order to provide 153 spaces in total.
The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved the site plan at its April 14th meeting. The project has yet to be approved by Buckeye’s City Council.
