1. Arizona Multihousing Charitable Foundation announced it has distributed more than $200K in grants to a variety of organizations. AMCF has contributed to the following groups:
- HSL Center of Opportunity – $75,250;
- Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center – $46,870;
- UMOM New Day Centers – $46,870;
- Interfaith Community Services – $29,140; and,
- Julie Hurst & Steve Peters Education Fund – $7,500.

2. Inc. Magazine has named Creation and LGE Design Build to its list of 5000 of America’s fastest-growing private companies. Creation was ranked at 1,462 and LGE Design Build was ranked at 3,263.
3. Suntec Concrete was named the 2024 Southwest Specialty Contractor of the Year. The company saw 2021 revenues of $394.2M, reported $556M in 2022 and continued growing significantly in 2023. Suntec Concrete is one of the 10 largest employee-owned construction companies in the nation and the largest in Arizona.

4. The City of Tempe announced Mayor Corey Woods has been named as Vice Chair of the United States Conference of Mayors Community Development and Housing Standing Committee.
Company News
5. Sunroc Corp. announced it has acquired concrete provider Arizona Metro Mix LLC, which will continue to operate under its existing name. Arizona Metro Mix’s 72 full-time employees, facilities and equipment are included in the acquisition.
6. Real estate development firm Bourn Companies has acquired homebuilder Pepper Viner Homes. The acquisition is intended to enhance both companies’ positions in the Tucson market.
7. Mechanical contractor Tweet Garot announced the establishment of a permanent office in Phoenix. Brian Smith, former owner of Mechanical, Inc., will lead the Phoenix office.
8. Phoenix West Commercial announced it has rebranded to reflect a fresh identity and renewed commitment to excellence. The rebrand includes a new logo and renovation of the company’s West Valley office.
New Hires
9. Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. has hired Charley Freericks as President of the Phoenix region. Freericks will oversee the development of Teravalis, a 37,000-acre master-planned community in Buckeye. He previously served as Senior VP for Catellus Corp. and oversaw the development of the Novus Innovation Corridor.
10. The City of Avondale named Katie Gregory as Assistant City Manager. Gregory will support City Manager Ron Corbin.
11. NAI Horizon announced the hiring of Andie Edmonds as Senior VP. Edmonds previously served as Chief Real Estate Officer at 3G Capital Advisors.
12. Cushman & Wakefield announced Garrett Stasand has joined as a Director in its Mountain West industrial capital markets team. Stasand will report to Rob Rubano.
13. Achen-Gardner Construction has hired Florentino ‘Tino’ Tarango as Project Manager and Desiree Garcia as Assistant Safety Engineer.
14. JLL has hired Emily Minnier as an Associate Broker in Phoenix.
