    Giving Back

    1. Lowe’s funded renovations at New Life Center, a Goodyear-based domestic violence shelter, as part of its national Hometowns Initiative. The upgrades, including new fixtures, flooring and lighting, improved emergency shelter casitas to create more supportive spaces for survivors. The center was one of 100 community-nominated projects selected nationwide.

    Awards & Accolades

    2. LGE Design Build ranked No. 4,158 on the Inc. 5,000 list of fastest-growing companies in the U.S. This marks the third consecutive year the firm has received the honor.

    Company News

    3. SimonCRE is celebrating both its 15th anniversary and the completion of its 300th project. The company was founded by Joshua Simon in 2010.

    Promotions

    4. Benjamin Tate has been promoted to Partner at Withey Morris Baugh. Tate was previously an Associate and has led major entitlement efforts across the state. He brings legal and policy expertise to the firm’s land use and zoning practice and has been with the firm since 2012.

    5. Jason Meuth, VP of MYCON General Contractors, will now oversee Phoenix operations. Meuth has been a contributor since 2013. He will continue assisting with Texas operations alongside his new responsibilities.

    6. Ryan Park has been promoted to Director of Construction at Stevens-Leinweber Construction. He was previously a project leader and now oversees the company’s 12MSF Phoenix-area construction pipeline, including ground-up and tenant improvement projects. Park is also responsible for project oversight, pre-construction and staff mentorship.

    7. The City of Glendale promoted Djordje Pavlovic to Engineering Services Director. He has served the City for more than 10 years as a Structural Engineer and Building Official. He will step into the role on Aug. 25.

    8. W.E. O’Neil announced the promotion of Brandon Teston to Project Executive. He will join the company’s Arizona team, bringing with him 18 years of construction experience, eight of those with W.E. O’Neil’s California team.

    New Hires

    9. MYCON General Contractors announced the hiring of Mark Mitchell as its new VP of Business Development in its Phoenix office. Mitchell has more than 20 years of leadership experience.

    10. Buchalter announced it has hired Jonathon Talcott and Matthew Levine. Both new hires have been brought on as shareholders. Talcott is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice group, while Levine is part of the Real Estate practice group.

    11. Lynne Birkinbine has joined Terracon as Regional Services Specialist in the Tucson office. Birkinbine has more than 30 years of experience in environmental compliance, brownfields redevelopment and urban planning, including 25 years with the City of Tucson and 10 years in consulting roles across Arizona and California.

    Retirements

    12. Phoenix City Manager Jeff Barton recently announced his retirement will commence later this fall. Barton has been with the City for more than 25 years. His tenure with Phoenix started as an Internal Auditor in 1999.

    13. Edmund Armijo is retiring from Stevens-Leinweber Construction after more than 30 years with the firm. He most recently served as Senior Project Manager.
