1. Sundt Construction, alongside architectural firms Poster Mirto McDonald and Miller Hull, won three Design-Build Institute of America Western Pacific Region awards. The Design Excellence Award, Award of Excellence for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Design Build and The Innovation Award awards were presented for their work on the Student Success District project for The University of Arizona.

2. The Weitz Company announced the celebration of its 45th anniversary since the opening of its Arizona office. Since 1978, Weitz has played a vital role in shaping Arizona’s construction landscape, successfully completing more than 1,115 projects ranging from data centers, aviation/transportation projects, commercial offices, senior living communities and landmark multifamily buildings.
Promotions
3. Sundt Construction recently announced the promotion of Clint Sundt to Senior VP and District Manager overseeing mining and special projects. Sundt has held numerous roles within the company since 1994 and is a descendant of its founder, Mauritz Martinsen Sundt.
4. The City of Prescott has named Gwen Rowitsch Public Works Director. Rowitsch had served as Deputy Public Works Director since 2020 and has worked for the City of Prescott since 2007.
5. Kara McNamara has been promoted to President at Corporate Interior Systems. She had previously served as VP of Innovation.
6. Heather Wisemanc has been promoted to serve as VP of Leasing at Evergreen Devco. Wiseman joined the firm in 2019.
7. Tech Parks Arizona recently announced two promotions. Jessa Turner has been promoted to serve as Associate VP, Marketing & Communications for Tech Parks Arizona. Also promoted was Casey Carrillo, who will serve as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for the University of Arizona Center for Innovation.
New Hires
8. Valley Metro has added to its leadership team with the hiring of Darren Curry as Chief Maintenance Officer, where he will be responsible for planning, developing and directing all aspects of the agency’s Maintenance Division.
9. CBRE announced Mike Higgins has joined the company as a Senior VP and will partner with the institutional multifamily team based in Phoenix.
10. Lisa Mamangon has joined Evergreen Devco as Controller.
11. Christina Noble has joined Gensler Phoenix as a Design Director for the firm’s architectural practice.
