    Awards & Accolades

    1. Taylor Morrison Chairman and CEO Sheryl Palmer has been named a Top CEO in 2018 in the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards, chosen by users of the site, Glassdoor.com. Palmer got an approval rating of 96%, which landed her the 19th position among all CEOs of large companies (1,000+ employees) in the U.S.

    Boards & Commissions

    2. After serving more than four years at the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Laura Ciscomani will be the new director of development for both the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Arizona Chamber Foundation. Her role will involve engaging chamber members to use services and programs the organization offers, such as the new chamber business news to amplify members’ work.

    3. Maricopa County Supervisor Denny Barney has taken the baton from John Lewis and will head the East Valley Partnership on a part-time basis. As county supervisor, Barney oversees Tempe, Chandler, Ahwatukee Foothills, Gilbert, west Mesa and Queen Creek. As president and CEO of the partnership, he will oversee the economics and quality of life improvements in Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek and Apache Junction.

    4. On June 20, the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industry of AZ Board of Directors welcomed four new members to its table and elected the Executive Board to round out the leadership team for the 2018-20 term. Joining the Board of Directors are Scott Schuster, President of Integrated Lath & Plaster; Bill Borselli, General Manager of Saguaro Drywall Company, Aspen Construction and Aspen Interiors; Doug Dedrick, Jr., General Manager of Stucco Renovations of Arizona, LLC; and, Jesus Ramos, outside sales representative of Western Stucco.

    5. Orange County based Healthcare Design & Construction LLC (HDC) recently opened a local Scottsdale office to serve the greater Arizona market and has brought Dr. Scott Christensen, CHC, LEED AP: ID+C on board to lead the effort. HDC specializes in construction within the healthcare market with focus on acute care and outpatient facilities, especially through the design-build delivery method. Christensen brings over 25 years of experience and knowledge in construction and project management to the HDC team.

    6. Sundt Construction, Inc. climbed 32 spots to No. 65 on Engineering News Record’s (ENR) 2018 Top 400 Contractors list, with a reported $1.134B in construction revenue during 2017. ENR creates its list of Top 400 Contractors based on the past year’s construction revenue. The results were announced last month. View the entire Top 400 Contractors list here.

    7. Adams and Associates Engineers PLLC has announced the opening of their new branch office at 3801 E. Roesner Rd, Suite #3, in Phoenix, to better serve the needs of their clients in the Phoenix metro area as well as northern Arizona. Mik Mikulich, P.E. is the principal on charge of the new Phoenix office.

    8. David Weekley Homes has $95.5M of area construction projects on its plate this year. The company will begin building in the master-planned community Cadence at Gateway in Mesa. Beginning in October, 72 home sites will be available. The company is building about 200 homes a year in the Phoenix market.

    9. Maracay Homes in Scottsdale and Native American Connection in Phoenix were both celebrated as recipients of the USGBC 2017 LEED Homes Awards for Outstanding Single-Family Developer and Outstanding Affordable Developer Builder / Developer, respectively.

    10. Republic Services, Inc. has been recognized as one of the most innovative companies in the world by Forbes Magazine. Ranked 89th, Republic is one of only two recycling and solid waste management companies on the 2018 list.

    11. Cushman & Wakefield, which had revenue of nearly $7B in 2017, has filed for an initial public offering. The company is looking to raise about $1B via the IPO and seeks a valuation of more than $5B.

    12. CBC Advisors has changed their name to ADVISORS Commercial Real Estate. They have also updated their website to www.AdvisorsCommercialRE.com and employee emails.

    Promotions

    13. Alliance Residential Company announced the promotion of Bradley Cribbins to President/Chief Executive Officer of Alliance’s management division. With 25 years of industry experience, Cribbins joined the Alliance family in July 2007 as Managing Director of Asset Management for the Broadstone portfolio. As the company drives forward with its 2020 vision to reach 150K managed units, Cribbins will continue to challenge teams to drive alignment, and focus on how talent and teamwork set the management company apart as an elite service provider.

    14. Coe and Van Loo Consultants (CVL) has promoted Matt Smith to Assistant Project Manager in the land development department after previously working as an Engineer in Training (EIT) at CVL for the past 4 years. His responsibilities include preliminary and final design, team scheduling, team supervision, estimating, marketing, interface with municipal agencies and clients, and the overall responsibility of maintaining efficient project timelines and minimizing cost for clients.

    New Hires

    15. Sharp Construction, a woman-owned and operated general contractor, is experiencing exciting growth as the Valley’s commercial real estate industry continues to flourish. Sharp Construction was founded in 2017 by CEO | Principal Tiffany Sharp and CFO | Principal Jeff Pinter. After less than six months, with recently added industry expert Stephanie Handley as Vice President | Business Development, Sharp boasts eight employees at its office in the Camelback Corridor.

    16. LevRose Commercial Real Estate has added six new employees to their team. Hunter Chasse is an advisor specializing in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of office properties in Scottsdale. Colby Pool is an advisor for the retail team; Drew Gabler joins as an industrial advisor; Jason Reddington recently joined as an advisor focusing on office properties for the Scottsdale and midtown/central Phoenix markets; Hunter Peek has been promoted to an advisor from an intern position; and Casey Chisholm has been brought on as marketing assistant.
