    Awards & Accolades

    1. Ranking Arizona announced its top 10 architecture companies in Arizona. The first ranking consisted of companies that contained a minimum of eight architects. These companies were:

    • Corgan,
    • Gensler,
    • Orcutt | Winslow,
    • Butler Design Group,
    • CCBG Architects,
    • SmithGroup,
    • Archicon Architecture & Interiors,
    • DFDG Architecture,
    • Allen + Philp Architects and
    • SWABACK.

    Ranking Arizona presented a separate ranking for companies consisting of a maximum of seven architects. These companies included:

    • Cawley Architects,
    • DAVIS,
    • dpa architects,
    • LGE Design Build,
    • Pinnacle Design,
    • Deutsch Architecture Group,
    • GLHN Architects & Engineers,
    • ADM Group,
    • MRT Design and
    • Ideation Design Group.

    2. ECM Technologies was named Most Innovative Business of the Year in the 2025 Champions of Change Awards. The HVAC company was recognized for its ThermaClear solution, which improves energy efficiency and system longevity, and for its donations of ThermaClear to nationwide locations of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

    3. Terracon announced Donald R. Clark was the recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Clark has been with Terracon for more than 30 years and established the company’s offices in Phoenix and Denver.

    4. Halff has opened its first Arizona office at 1910 S. Stapley Dr., Suite 221, in Mesa. The infrastructure consulting firm offers services across land development, public works, transportation, water/wastewater and water resources. Gary Hudder will serve as operations manager.

    5. Strategic Impact Partners has launched in Phoenix. The woman-owned firm specializes in executive photography, visual storytelling and visibility consulting for women-led and mission-driven businesses. Karianne Munstedt leads the firm as founder and creative director.

    Promotions

    6. Ryan Lee has been promoted by the City of Glendale from its Director of Government Relations to its Director of Transportation. He will manage Glendale’s Transportation Department and oversee airport and transit services, as well as the City’s pavement management program.

    New Hires

    7. Daver Malik has been named Assistant Aviation Director/Chief Development Officer at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. He will oversee design and construction, planning and environmental, and technology divisions. Malik brings more than 20 years of aviation experience, including leadership roles on major capital programs such as Sky Harbor’s $1.5B Terminal 3 Modernization, Terminal 4 concourse and PHX Sky Train Stage 2.

    8. Chad Koelling has joined Hill International as First VP. With more than 20 years of AEC industry experience, he will oversee Mountain State operations and support growth and client partnerships in Ariz., Utah, Colo. and N.M.

    9. SWABACK has hired Nathan Wilcox as Design Partner. Wilcox has more than 20 years of experience and most recently served as Principal at The Beck Group in Austin. His project portfolio includes the W Hotel in Playa del Carmen and the Omni La Costa Member’s Golf Clubhouse in Carlsbad. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP and SMPS.
