    Giving Back

    1. More than 20 members of the Central Arizona chapter of CCIM gathered in May to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children in Mesa. During its two-hour shift, the chapter packed 60 boxes. That represented 12,960 meals that will feed 34 kids for one year. Feed My Starving Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. It works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long term, empowering them to move from relief to development.

    2. The University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) announced the UACI Sponsored Launch Fueled by Concord General Contracting competition. One promising startup team will be sponsored and provided with the resources, facilities, services, and expert guidance to grow their businesses. The UACI Sponsored Launch Program Fueled by Concord General Contracting, will award a startup team that is on an active mission to solve a significant business or social challenge through a business, the opportunity to access a complimentary year’s entry into UACI’s incubator program.     3. Stackhouse has steadily progressed their business which builds urban residential towers engineered to lift mobile, container-homes in and out enabling home ownership, community, and mobility in downtown cores. The business model provides owners with housing that is highly mobile and allows homeowners the freedom to go where life takes them. They sought business development support and joined the UA Center for Innovation last year. After teaming up, UACI offered Stackhouse customized business support as well as access to the people, programming, and places needed to scale their business. Stackhouse has worked with UACI through a 27-point roadmap that helped them refine their business plan, identify a target market, and much more.

    4. Celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2020, RestorationHQ showed its resiliency by achieving 31 percent growth in volume despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The company is anticipating further growth (20 percent) in 2021 with a restructured marketing and sales team to adjust to the new times post COVID as well as initiate growth in the new markets. The entire team has been redesigned beginning with the addition of Brandie Hopwood as Director of Business Development, Sales and Marketing.

    5. Blake Hardison, Clint Hardison and Robert Harding have recently launched Ike Commercial Real Estate, a new commercial real estate brokerage focused solely on tenant representation.

    Promotions

    6. Richard Martinez was promoted to Vice President of Facilities Construction Services at TEPCON Construction. Martinez has been at TEPCON since 2012 and has grown to lead the Facilities Construction Services Division. Martinez brings 24+ years of industry experience and is responsible for the overall performance, including acquiring and executing work for his division.

    7. Hines has promoted Jim Bulsiewicz to the position of Director of Development in its Phoenix office. Bulsiewicz, who has been with the company for three years, will be responsible for evaluating new development and acquisition opportunities across all product types for both the Arizona and New Mexico markets.

    New Hires

    8. Mosaic has announced the appointment of Ray Gonzalez to the position of Executive VP of Operations. Gonzalez is a real estate and homebuilding professional with more than 30 years of experience in a wide array of business models and disciplines within the industry. As EVP of Operations, he will manage and direct all construction operations, from concept to implementation, overseeing client satisfaction, quality, and financial objectives.

    9. Agate Construction announced Jeff Anderson has been hired as a senior preconstruction services and project manager in their Scottsdale office. Anderson brings more than 25 years of experience to his role. As senior preconstruction services and project manager, he will assist in managing and overseeing the budgeting and quality assurance of project estimates, allowing for a seamless transition to the construction phase, as well as the setup, construction, and completion of construction activities.

    10. Lisa Chapman joins DAVIS as the new Director of Interior Design. She has more than 20 years of international experience in interior design across a variety of building types, including offices, commercial, hospitality, retail, education, healthcare, municipal, multi-family, and residential. From initial concept to project completion, she works closely with clients and team members to create dynamic spaces where people live, work, and play.

    11. With more than 36 years of civil engineering experience in Arizona, Jim Griffin, PE, has joined Langan in Phoenix to grow the firm’s land-development practice in the region. Before joining Langan, Griffin worked on a wide variety of civil engineering projects with an emphasis in the industrial market but also on fire stations, transfer stations, infrastructure, K-12 and higher-education, retail, and multifamily use on behalf of developers, owners, architects and government agencies.
