    Giving Back

    1. Cox recently kicked off its “34 by 34” social impact initiative at South Mountain Park with a $250K grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley. The grant will fund the installation of solar panels at the Rosenzweig Boys & Girls Club branch in Phoenix. 
    2. The Arizona Chapter of NAIOP partnered this semester with Junior Achievement of Arizona to teach a course entitled, “Real Estate Development and the Built Environment,” to students at Gateway Early College High School. NAIOP volunteer instructors included Alex Boles, ViaWest Group; Damon Jeffrey, Mortenson; David Kinney, Raintree Capital; Stirling Pascal, Lee & Associates Arizona; Peggy Maxwell, Plaza Companies; Samantha Pinkal, Greater Phoenix Economic Council; Ashley Nye, Trammell Crow Company; Cathy Thuringer, Trammell Crow Company; and Eric Whitehurst, Kimley-Horn.

    3. NAI Global President and CEO Jay Olshonsky announced the firm’s 2021 Top Producers that featured the top 125 agents. NAI Horizon Executive Managing Director Denise Nunez was No. 70. NAI Horizon Executive Managing Director Isy Sonabend was No. 111.
    4. CVL Project Engineer Nicholas Griffin has earned his Professional Engineering Certification.

      Company News
    5. Creation RE and institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Global Alternatives announced a joint venture that will invest $1B in industrial, warehouse and logistics real estate projects across four states: Arizona, New York, Texas and New Jersey. The Arizona projects are Lindsay 202 (Gilbert) Midway Commerce Center (Chandler), and Park Algodon North and South (Phoenix).
    6. Henderson Companies, the parent company of Henderson Engineers and Henderson Building Solutions, announced it has become a 100% employee-owned firm after launching an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
    7. As part of its celebration and commemoration of 50 years in business, Concord General Contracting has expanded its traditional portfolio of project types to take on projects in a range of additional markets. 
    8. Orcutt | Winslow has absorbed Jefferson, Indiana design firm TEG Architects, LLC.

      Promotions
    9. Darrin Orindorff has been promoted to President at DFDG Architecture. 
    10. Weitz recently announced three promotions. Boe Evanson has been promoted to Project Executive; Andrew Klem has been promoted to Project Executive, and Bill Hornaday has been promoted to Senior Project Manager.
    11. JLL Capital Markets announced it has promoted Senior Managing Directors Ben Geelan and Brad Miner to co-heads of the Phoenix Capital Markets group. Geelan will oversee the investment sales advisory platform of the business while Miner will oversee the debt and equity advisory platform.
    12. Newmark Knight Frank has promoted Chris Canter to Senior Managing Director and Chase Dorsett to Director.
    13. Huitt-Zollars has promoted John Mireles and Doug Both as Associates.

      New Hires
    14. Kyle Walker has joined LaPour Partners as VP of Construction.
    15. Graycor continues to build out its Southwest Division leadership team, hiring Sue Sylvester as head of Business Development.
    16. Newmark Knight Frank has added to its team, hiring Scott Scharlach as Managing Director and Erin McClure as Director.
    17. CVL announced that Colin Hanson has joined the company as an Assistant Project Manager.
