Giving Back

1. The Salt River Project Solar for Nonprofits Program has completed the installation of a 40kW solar system for Junior Achievement of Arizona, a project expected to cut the organization’s electricity use by about 40%. The system will help JA reduce its electricity costs, allowing the nonprofit to allocate more resources to support its mission while embracing a more sustainable future. Construction began in October of last year.
2. Lyn Marquis, president of MC Companies’ Sharing the Good Life Foundation, has been recognized by the Arizona Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Marquis received the Advocacy Award in early February for her dedication to raising awareness, supporting individuals and families affected by cystic fibrosis, and advocating for critical resources and advancements in care.
3. The Salt River Project announced a grant to the Phoenix Zoo to enhance its water management by providing additional and upgraded submeters, as well as smart irrigation technology, to increase water efficiency efforts throughout the 126-acre property. SRP will fund nearly $70K in upgrades and up to $12.8K in training and equipment implementation.
4. Lōkahi Teams is holding its Second Annual Fundraiser Carnival from April 10th-13th at Dobson High School,located at 1501 W. Guadalupe Road in Mesa. The event raises funds to help young athletes statewide overcome financial barriers to participate in sports. Lōkahi has provided more than $70K to support more than 500 students since its inception in May 2021. The carnival will feature more than 20 full-size thrill rides and kiddie attractions, classic carnival games and a variety of food trucks.

5. Terracon was recently honored with two awards by the Environmental Business Journal and one by the Climate Change Business Journal. The company’s two EBJ awards were for Social Contribution: Terracon Foundation and Mergers & Acquisitions. Its CCBJ award was for Advancing Best Practices: Emissions Reduction.
6. In CoStar’s list of Tucson “Power Brokers,” Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR professionals made up more than half the awardees. Twelve individuals were awarded as top performers in four categories:

7. The Navajo Nation and Dibble have recently signed a $400M contract for engineering services. Dibble, a multidisciplinary service provider in the Southwest, will provide two years of on-demand engineering services to the Navajo Nation. This partnership aims to enhance road infrastructure for the Diné communities and facilitate the completion of additional construction projects in the area.

8. Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona appointed Todd Rogers as its new President and CEO. Rogers has worked with the company for 17 years in various leadership roles. He succeeds Jason Barlow, who held the position for nine years.
New Hires
9. Bob Mulhern has joined Transwestern Real Estate Service as the firm’s Executive Managing Director and Phoenix City Leader. Mulhern had been with Colliers since 2009 as Senior Managing Director and Phoenix Market Leader. In his new role, Mulhern will work with Transwestern’s brokers and development and investment components.
10. Alex Arevalo has joined Canyon State Electric as the company’s VP of Operations. Arevalo has worked in many leadership roles within the electrical and construction industries throughout his career.
11. Landsea Homes announced Thomas Sanford has joined the company’s Arizona division to serve as the new VP of Sales and Marketing. In his new role, Sanford will lead all sales and marketing efforts in Arizona and oversee the sales and marketing team. He has more than 20 years of local industry experience.
12. Chamberlain & Associates hired Ben Roeshot as its new Director of Business Development. Roeshot will secure new business, build partnerships, conduct site visits and prepare management proposals.
13. PHX Architecture announced the hiring of Alan Roberts. Roberts has more than 30 years of experience in the field and has worked with a variety of architectural firms in Arizona and Nevada. He also served as department chair at the Southwest University of Visual Arts for five years.
