    1. The Sundt Foundation awarded nearly $27K in grants to 11 Southern Arizona nonprofits during its first-quarter disbursements. The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
    2. CBRE Tucson rolled up their sleeves on Saturday, March 7th to build a home on Women Build Day. Women Build challenges and empowers women from all walks of life to help build affordable homes, hope and opportunity for hardworking, local families.
    Boards & Commissions
    3. The Arizona Builders Alliance appointed Dan Puente of DP Electric as the organization’s 2020 chairman. In his role, he will facilitate discussions with the board of directors, utilize their direction and support to ensure consensus on industry issues and challenges, and help the organization achieve success in 2020.
    4. Governor Doug Ducey has appointed Jenn Daniels, the mayor of Gilbert, and Richard Searle, a longtime Cochise County leader from the community of Pearce, to serve on the State Transportation Board.
    5. BOMA Greater Phoenix has named Farrell Quinlan as its new executive director. Quinlan succeeds Tim Lawless at BOMA. Lawless left the BOMA post to become president of the Commercial Real Estate Executives for Economic Development.

    6. CCS Presentation Systems, one of the largest integrators of audiovisual equipment in the U.S., announced it has recorded the best revenue year in its 29-year history for 2019.
    Promotions
    7. Larissa Tavelli was promoted to marketing director for McCarthy’s Southwest region. She previously served as senior marketing manager. As marketing director, Tavelli is oversees the region’s branding and marketing strategy while supporting the firm’s business development, preconstruction, operations and project teams.
    New Hires
    8. Artisan Colour is positioning itself for expansion with the recent addition of Director of Digital Printing Alan Ludington. Ludington brings more than 35 years of print industry experience to Artisan, specifically across large format, small format, and offset printing.
    9. Transcend Security announced that industry veteran Darwyn Harp has joined the firm as its executive vice president-operations and principal. Harp will be responsible for all aspects of operational and management strategies of Transcend Security’s Class A High-Rise and Commercial Division.
    10. Valley Metro has hired Thomas Young as its manager of Accessible Transit Services. Young is tasked with providing passengers safe, convenient and comfortable service that is accessible to and usable by all.
    11. NAI Horizon has hired Thomas Smith as senior vice president to help the brokerage firm target churches and other religious facilities to help them with their real estate needs and potential growth.
    12. Gammage & Burnham announced that distinguished water law practitioner Michael J. Pearce has joined the firm as a partner.
    13. KB Home announced Sarah Paulson Sheehy has been appointed as its vice president of Government Affairs. Sheehy will lead the company’s efforts on public policy initiatives and interactions with public officials, serve as its liaison with trade associations and similar organizations, and oversee its charitable and community outreach endeavors.
    14. The law firm of Jaburg Wilk announced that Nathan M. Gallinat joined the firm as an attorney in the construction defect litigation group.

    15. After starting as a part-time employee in the city’s parks department and working her way up to be a city planner, Laura Blakeman has retired after more than 30 years of service to Casa Grande.
