    Awards & Accolades 

    1. Robson Communities won five Best of 55+ awards at the recent 2023 National Association of Home Builders: The Nationals Ceremony. Two awards centered on Arizona developments. The company won the 55+ Gold Award for Best Detached Home for The Mira Model at Pebble Creek in Goodyear and the 55+ Silver Award – Best Print – SaddleBrooke Ranch – Sales Brochure. 

    2. Transact Commercial Interiors was recently honored with two awards for its dynamic collaboration with Teknion. Transact Commercial Interiors won the 2021 and 2022 Teknion Dealer Impact Award for the United States as well as the 2021 and 2022 Teknion Platinum Deal Award also for the U.S. 

    3. Following an impressive year that featured 852 completed commercial real estate transactions, Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR recently honored its outstanding performers of 2022. The honorees were:

    Company News 

    5. McCarthy Building Companies has expanded its Valley presence, opening a 40KSF innovation and craft workforce center on Roosevelt Avenue in Chandler. In addition to its local headquarters on 24th Street in Phoenix, the new center adds classrooms and training space for the company. 

    6. Gehan Homes has rebranded as Brightland Homes. All 110 of the company’s communities in Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee and Texas, formerly known as Gehan Homes, Gray Point Homes and Wonderland Homes will now be unified under the new brand. 

    7. C3 Engineering announced it has received InterNational Electrical Testing Association accreditation. NETA Accredited Company membership is tailored for third-party, independent firms involved in full-service testing, analysis, and maintenance of electrical power systems. This includes low-, medium-, and high-voltage distribution, substation, and generation equipment. 

    8. Vestar has announced several key milestones reached in 2022, including leasing more than 1.1MSF of retail space with 460 new and renewed leases. The company also has more than 1.5MSF of commercial retail space currently under development. New shopping and entertainment destinations in Queen Creek, Peoria, Buckeye and Phoenix are set to open between summer 2023 and early 2025. 

    Promotions 

    9. NAI Horizon recently announced four promotions. Chris Gerow, Shelby Tworek and Mike Myrick have all been named Executive VPs. Larson Wilcke has been promoted to Associate. 

    10. Speedie & Associates, LLC – A UES Company announced the promotion of Daniel Stratulat to Geotechnical Project Manager. Stratulat also recently received his professional engineering license. 

    New Hires 

    11. Gov. Katie Hobbs has appointed Susan Nicholson to serve as Director of the Department of Real Estate. Nicolson most recently served as president-elect of the West and Southeast Realtors of the Valley. 

    12. The City of Peoria has hired former Economic Development Director Rick Buss to serve as its new Assistant City Manager.  

    13. VIAONE Commercial Real Estate has hired 30-year industry veteran Doug Singer as Managing Director 

    14. April Didlake has joined SmithGroup to serve as the firm’s Director of Business Development in Phoenix. 

    15. W.E. O’Neil Construction has announced two new hires. Michael Waiksnoris joins the firm as Project Superintendent and Richard Seidel has come on as Field Engineer.
