Awards & Accolades

1. Main 45, a 45-unit, townhome-style development by Elliot Barkan Development, has received the Best Site Plan award from Mesa Development Services. The project is located on 3.5 acres at the SWC of Sossaman Road and Main Street. Project team members included Rose Law Group, Presence Design, Land Development Group Civil Engineering and Adamson Landscape Architects. The project was recognized as part of the City of Mesa’s 2025 Development Advisory Forum Awards.
Groundbreakings
2. Macerich has announced a redevelopment initiative at Chandler Fashion Center, focused on the south side of the property near Harkins Theatres. The project includes upgrades to the dining and entertainment district and construction on an initial pedestrian access improvement connecting the east parking lot to the redevelopment area, scheduled to begin in January. Additional restaurant and retail additions are planned as part of the broader phased redevelopment.
3. Construction has begun on Halogen Apache Trail, a 336-unit, three-story multifamily development in downtown Apache Junction. The $80M project is located at 330 N. Apache Trail and will consist of 14 residential buildings. The Wolff Company is the developer.
4. Construction has begun on Bethany Bay, a two-building industrial development in the Loop 303 corridor. The project consists of two buildings measuring 98.1KSF and 39.2KSF. Indicap is the developer, Ware Malcomb is the architect, and FCL Builders is serving as the general contractor. Leasing is being handled by Newmark. The project is scheduled to be delivered in summer 2026.
5. Construction is underway on a build-to-suit industrial facility for International Furniture Direct in Glendale. The 86KSF project will include warehouse, office and retail components on 6.5 acres. LGE Design Build is overseeing design and construction. The facility will support distribution operations and include 21 truck bays.
6. The NRP Group has broken ground on Desert Sky, a 288-unit affordable multifamily project at 6939 W. Thomas Road in Phoenix. The development is situated on 10 acres. The land was purchased for $4.1M, and the project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
7. The Ak-Chin Indian Community has broken ground on the Ak-Chin Dialysis Center, a 6.5KSF medical facility with co-located medical offices at 45255 W. Sudagi Ave. in Maricopa. The center will be operated by DaVita Kidney Care and is located southwest of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. Construction is underway and is anticipated to finish in fall 2026.
Progress Reports

8. Construction is progressing on Buc-ee’s Goodyear, a 74KSF convenience store and gas station in Goodyear. The project is located on Bullard Avenue just south of I-10 and will include 120 fueling stations on a 22-acre site. Buc-ee’s acquired the property for $17.2M in May 2024, and construction began that same month. The store is scheduled to open in June 2026.
Completions
9. Senior Resource Group has announced the release of the Lodge Residences at Maravilla Scottsdale, marking the final phase of residential development at the senior living community. The lodge residences represent the last homes available for reservation at the project, with construction on the final expansion currently underway.
10. Construction has been completed on the 68th and Oak Street Athletic Facility in south Scottsdale for the Scottsdale Unified School District. Willmeng Construction served as the general contractor on the project, which consisted of redeveloping a vacant site into the new athletic facility. Bowman Consulting and DLR Group provided design services.
11. Renovations have been completed at the Glendale Walmart Supercenter at 5010 N. 95th Avenue in Glendale. The $15M remodel included interior and exterior updates. The store reopened on Dec. 12.
12. Construction has been completed on the WillScot Support Center at Scottsdale Entrada, which will serve as WillScot’s new headquarters space. Wespac Construction served as general contractor for the 79KSF tenant improvement project, located in a Class A office building at 6400 E. McDowell Road in Scottsdale. Corgan and JLL also collaborated on the project.
13. A new Love’s Travel Stop opened Dec. 18 at 2950 N. Toltec Road in Eloy. The location is Love’s second site in the city and was under construction for more than a year.
14. The Arizona Department of Transportation has opened a second lane at the northbound I-17 off-ramp to Loop 303 and Sonoran Desert Drive in north Phoenix. The improvement is part of a $1.3M ramp widening project intended to reduce congestion ahead of a larger interchange reconstruction scheduled to begin next year.
