1. U-Haul International Inc. is in the midst of turning a former Kmart store in south Phoenix into a self-storage facility. As construction is completed within the next year, the 8.74-acre lot will feature services including self-storage units; towing equipment and professional hitch installation; propane; and a U-Haul Re-Use center for used household furnishings,

2. Sundt Construction, Inc. recently completed the APS Four Corners Selective Catalytic Reduction Retrofits. The design-build project added four selective catalytic reduction systems for nitrogen oxide emission control for Units 4 and 5 of the APS Power Plant. The selective catalytic reactors used are the tallest in North America and the second-largest air pre-heaters in the world, at 60 feet in diameter.

3. Construction of a six-story office building at the Chandler Viridian mixed-use development will be completed this month.

4. The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department celebrated the grand opening of Pinnacle Dog Park on Dec. 13. The dog park is the first phase of developing Pinnacle Park. Currently in design, the second phase will include two lit multi-use sports fields, restrooms and other amenities. Construction on that phase is scheduled to begin in summer 2019.

5. Sahuarita Boulevard South opened Dec. 13, making way for an additional 70 acres of commercial development in Sahuarita Town Center. The new street, sewers and other utilities running south of Sahuarita Road were built by Rancho Sahuarita’s master plan developer at a cost of $3M.

6. Point B has completed renovations on the “Hardware Store,” 815 and 829 North 1st Avenue in Phoenix. The restoration leverages the historical nature and character of the existing buildings, and includes updated interior and common areas and creative office space in proximity to downtown and the Roosevelt Row neighborhood.
