    Groundbreakings

    1. Path Construction Southwest has broken ground on the historic renovation of Arnold’s Pickle House in Phoenix. The project, being developed by Chicanos por La Causa, will be available for office/creative/ business space and is expected to be complete in October. SPS+ Architects is the architect.

    2. Print.Save.Repeat held a groundbreaking ceremony for two warehouse and manufacturing facilities totaling more than 65KSF in the new business park north of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Sun State Builders is the design-builder and general contractor and work is expected to finish in September 2019.

    3. Jackson-Shaw and LaPour Partners announced the groundbreaking of Parc Germann, a 224.5KSF two-building urban industrial development in Chandler. Building A is located at 2215 E. Germann Rd and Building B is located at 2225 E. Germann Rd.

    4. The Statesman Group will break ground on the third phase of 64 luxury condominiums at The Cays at Downtown Ocotillo and host a groundbreaking celebration that will be open to the public on May 2-5. Expected move-ins are late-spring 2020.

    Completions

    5. McCarthy Nordburg recently has showcased its expertise and design acumen for a diverse set of clients across the Valley. Recently completed projects include:

    • A 39KSF renovation of the Arizona Children’s Association at 3636 N. Central Ave, Phoenix. The general contractor was Wespac Construction.
    • Construction of new 19.7KSF offices in the Park at San Tan at 3075 E. Ray Rd, Chandler, for ARM. The general contractor was Brycon Construction.
    • A 28KSF renovation of the Christian Family Care at Central Avenue Corridor in Phoenix. The general contractor was RSG Builders.
    • A 19KSF co-working space for Workuity in Chandler Viridian. The general contractor was VENN Construction.

    6. After investing $68M in renovations in the former Abrazo Maryvale Campus at 5102 W. Campbell Ave., Phoenix, Maricopa Integrated Health System re-opened the hospital on April 11. The newly renovated facility is now called Valleywise Health and has begun providing 24/7, full-service emergency care. The general contractor was Gilbane Inc. and the architect was DLR Group.

    7. Maryvale Preparatory Academy, a Great Hearts public charter school, is holding a ribbon cutting celebration for its Marley Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. The performing arts center, the latest build-out of a multi-phase campus project, is 9.8KSF and seats more than 400.

    8. Destiny Springs, a 67.6KSF state-of-the-art behavioral healthcare facility, is now open and accepting patients at its new 90-bed facility at 17300 N. Dysart Rd, Surprise.

    9. The first new station built along the existing Valley Metro Rail line opens for service on Thursday, April 25. A ceremony for the 50th Street/Washington Light Rail Station is scheduled for April 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Ideation Design Group east parking lot.
