A new Class A, luxury multifamily development is being proposed within the Eastmark Planned Community District in Mesa.
The +/- 14.02-acre site is currently undeveloped and is located at the SEC of Ellsworth Road and Point 22 Boulevard at 5029 South Ellsworth Road, in a Mixed-Use Community character area of the city’s General Plan.
The applicant and developer, PCS Development, on behalf of the owner, DMB Mesa Proving Grounds LLC, is requesting site plan approval for the 320-unit development known as 2.0 at Eastmark or The Premier at Eastmark 2.0 as the site plan shows. The City of Mesa’s Planning and Zoning Commission heard and recommended approval of the site plan at its July 29th meeting.
The approximately $75M 2.0 at Eastmark is anticipated to include a total of 10 buildings consisting of a mix of 40 studio, 120 one-, 140 two- and 20 three-bedroom dwelling units as well as a clubhouse/leasing office.
The exterior design of the buildings will consist of stucco, metal, glass and large patios, according to the project documents submitted to the city. All residences will be equipped with LED lighting, low-flow plumbing, energy star appliances, solid surface countertops and the latest technology including Wi-Fi thermostats and more.
“The development features cutting edge amenities, unique, modern, timeless design features, with a state-of-the art clubhouse, conference rooms, coffee and wine bar, gym, and pool, roof deck lounge area, dog parks, play areas, putting greens, BBQs, and courtyards,” the documents state. These amenity areas are expected to be scattered throughout the property.
There will be three main vehicular access points to the site, all of which will be gated. The site plan shows the inclusion of 285 uncovered, 248 covered and 59 garage parking spaces for a total of 592 spaces for the development, which conforms to parking standards of the area. 229 bicycle parking spaces will also be added.
The project still needs to go before Mesa City Council. According to PCS Development, they anticipate the project to start construction in the second quarter of 2021.
