Economic News 
Q1 U.S. Economy Dropped 4.8 Percent 
The U.S. economy contracted at an annualized 4.8 percent rate during the first quarter of 2020 as a result of the ongoing global pandemic, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. The decline in GDP is largely a reflection of the final three weeks of March, which devastated the economy. (Source: Associated Builders and Contractors) 
Flagstaff Passes Recession Plan 
The Flagstaff City Council unanimously passed a recession plan last week designed to guide the city through both the current economic downturn and those in the future. (Source: Arizona Daily Sun) 
PPP Apparently Back on Track 
After some technical glitches that had lenders and small businesses frustrated for the second-round kickoff of the Paycheck Protection Program funding on April 27th, the system is back in gear, according to the Arizona district director for the Small Business Administration.
