A proposed 29-unit multifamily development planned on South Ellis Street south of Frye Road received a recommendation for approval from the Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission in the Feb. 19 meeting.
The requests for Nirvana at Ellis will now proceed to City Council.
The 1.94-acre site currently has an area plan in place for commercial, office and specialty retail uses. The proposed amendment would change the designation to multifamily residential. The property is surrounded by other multifamily on three sides, according to planning documents.
All units would be two-bedroom, two-bath. Building configurations call for one two-plex of 1,892SF, one three-plex of 2,835SF and six four-flex buildings of 3,780SF each. The first floors would be split between garage space and living area, while the top floors of each unit would feature living space and two balconies.
Planned amenities consist of a pool, open space and a barbeque area.
The site plan identifies Nirvana at Ellis as the project owner. The design firm is Tomecak Design. Jacobs Wallace LLC is the civil engineer.
