The Buckeye Planning Commission has voted to recommend approval for a 2,100-acre master plan proposal from Arizona Land Consulting to create a data center and technology campus in the Buckeye Tech Corridor.
The property is generally bounded by Yuma Road and Southern Avenue to the north and south and by Johnson Road and 323rd Avenue to the east and west.
The request seeks a major amendment to the former Cipriani master plan currently in place for the site. ALC submitted plans for the new corridor last April after buying the site from Cipriani Land Holdings LLC for $40M. The Cipriani plan had called for nearly 10,000 residential units and 190 acres of supporting commercial and open space uses. No construction was ever undertaken.
The ALC master plan includes establishing the property for industrial development that includes data centers, advanced manufacturing, business parks, office, retail and warehouse uses.
According to the submitted narrative, approximately 1,700 acres will probably be developed for data centers and related uses.
Arizona Land Consulting LLC is the owner. The civil engineer is HILGARTWILSON. Espiritu Loci Inc. is the design/planning firm, and the project is represented by Berry Riddell LLC.
The request will now go to Buckeye City Council for final approval. No hearing date has been set. (Source)
