The Buckeye City Council approved a site subdivision for Tartesso West High School and rezoning for an 847-unit Build-to-Rent and multifamily development.
Tartesso West High School
The new high school is planned at the SWC of Thomas Road and 303rd Avenue in the Tartesso West master-planned community, which is bounded by Glendale Avenue, McDowell Road, Sun Valley Parkway and 323rd Avenue.
HILGARTWILSON LLC requested the site subdivision, which dedicates land for the project.
Among other items, the changes included in the proposal consist of:
- Extending the Thomas Road right of way,
- Realigning a portion of Celeborn Drive,
- Abandoning Encanto Drive and other easements between Celeborn Drive and 303rd Avenue, and
- Dedicating a new Celeborn Drive right of way and associated easements next to the school site.
Tartesso West High School is proposed in partnership with the Saddle Mountain Unified School District and will comprise approximately 55 acres.
Hancock on Rooks
The Buckeye City Council also approved a rezoning request for 76.48 acres near the NWC of Rooks and Broadway roads for the Hancock on Rooks multifamily development. The request sought to rezone the land from planned residential to multifamily planning.
Hancock on Rooks will consist of 327 Build-to-Rent, 288 quadplex and 232 townhome units. The BTR portion covers 33.2 acres on the south side of the property and will feature one- and two-bedroom floorplans.
Planning staff recommended the project for approval after assuring officials that potential issues with traffic impacts on Miller Road and the need for Certificates of Assured Water Supply could be addressed. (Source)
