Banner Health is planning a multi-phase, multi-year, $19.5M expansion to its equipment and facilities at the Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.
Work has already begun to install a new standalone MRI facility valued at $7M that is expected to start operations next August, according to hospital CEO John Scherpf.
Infrastructure work is also underway to add a new nuclear camera to the hospital’s imaging department, which should be completed by year-end. The coffee shop will also be relocated in the building.
The other major portion of the improvement project is a “master campus planning” effort that constitutes a three-phase enhancement to surgical services, endoscopy, operating rooms and recovery areas. (Source)
Note from the Research Team: Several project details in the source article are inaccurate. Per Mark Barkenbush with Banner Health on 8/31/2023, the $9.8M project that is starting in Nov. 2023 involves right sizing and renovating the Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) and relocating an administrative space and endoscopy. This project needs to happen before the future phase of expanding the Operating and Recovery Rooms. The future OR expansion project is dependent on funding but Banner hopes to have it completed in the next five years. ARCHSOL and Integrity Building Corp. are the design and construction firms on the Endoscopy project.
The $7M MRI project is comprised of $3.5M for construction, $3M for equipment and approximately $500K for design & permitting.
