Banner Ironwood CEO Brian Kellar told the Queen Creek Town Council in a meeting last month the healthcare leader is planning to add approximately 30KSF to the north side of the hospital.
The expansion will feature a cardiac catheterization lab, 10KSF added onto the emergency department and the addition of 34 beds, which will bring the hospital’s total to 49. The ED’s waiting room will be expanded by 1KSF, and 80 new parking spaces will be added.
A shell space will be created for a second lab and for a second imaging suite, and a new multiple operating room suite will be added.
Kellar told the Council there are not currently any architectural renderings to release, but that he wanted to introduce the project to the public before it began the permitting process. He expects design work to commence in approximately six months and hopes to have the addition completed in early 2027. (Source)
