    Giving Back

    1. SDB Contracting Services will host its 15th annual charity golf tournament in October. A total of $538K has been raised to date to benefit the Arizona Department of Disabled American Veterans. Vans have been purchased to transport Veterans to appointments.

    Boards & Commissions

    2. Jared Holland has been named Chair of the Surprise Planning and Zoning Commission. He had previously served as Vice Chair, a position now filled by Ken Chapman.

    3. The Arizona Association for Economic Development has elected new members to its Board of Directors that represent both rural and metro communities across the state.

    Rural Arizona Board Members:

    • Jack Fitchett, Business Attraction Manager at the City of Flagstaff;
    • Maggie Tidaback, Economic Development Manager at the Town of Chino Valley;
    • Richard Hernandez, AZED Pro, Executive Director of Government Relations at Yavapai College (Reelected).

    • Jaye O’Donnell, Assistant Economic Development Director with the City of Mesa;
    • Suzie Boyles, Economic Development Director at the City of Buckeye (Reelected);

    Company News

    4. Alabama-based Caddell Construction has entered the metro Phoenix market and hired former Maricopa County Design and Construction Division Manager Brian Sheehan as Construction Executive. The company will occupy 3.5KSF at 4747N. 22nd St. after tenant improvements are complete. It is currently working out of a temporary space in the building.

    5. American Southern Homes is unifying its four existing development brands and will rename its holding company Evermore Homes. The company acquired Prescott-based Dorn Homes, Inc. in 2019 and plans to further expand in Arizona through land purchases or acquisitions.

    Promotions

    6. SDB Contracting Services recently announced two promotions. Willy Rossal was promoted to Project Manager. Mridula (Maddy) Potdar was promoted to Assistant Project Manager.

    New Hires

    7. Newmark announced it has hired Pat Devine as a Senior Managing Director in the company’s Phoenix office. Devine brings more than 25 years of experience, specializing in office property leasing for institutional and private clients.

    8. The Nunez Self-Storage Group has hired Self-storage Sales Specialist Andrew Agresta in the Phoenix office of NAI Horizon.

    Retirement

    9. After 40 years at P.B. Bell, Debbie Willis, President and Designated Broker of Property Management, has announced her retirement.
