    Groundbreakings

    1. Earlier this month, 29th Street Capital hosted a groundbreaking for two of its projects in Goodyear: the 408-unit multifamily community The Artesian Apartments and the 187-unit Build-to- Rent development Artesian BTR.

    2. Creation Equity broke ground on the $60M Thunderbird Commerce Park—a 243.4KSF, single-building industrial development located on 18 acres within Scottsdale Airpark. The expected completion date is early 2025.

    3. Arizona Department of Transportation began construction on the $38.5M project dubbed US60X, a five-mile stretch of Main Street in Mesa. Construction is expected to take two years to complete. The project includes sidewalk, curb, gutter, bike lane upgrades and improved drainage.

    4. Pima School District announced the groundbreaking of Pima High School, a 67KSF campus in Graham County. Expected completion date is July 2025. The new campus will feature ball fields, a football field, performing arts, culinary arts, school administration and classrooms. The school initially will be built to house 500 students and can be expanded to 600 students at full build-out.

    Progress Reports

    5. JE Dunn Construction and Hatteras Sky announced the topping out of Saiya, a 23-story 289-unit apartment high-rise in Phoenix. This milestone marks a major point in the construction in Roosevelt Row Arts District.

    6. The East Valley Institute of Technology is set to open HopeTech, an affordable, apartment-style complex for young adults aging out of the foster system in Mesa. EVIT held a beam signing ceremony in preparation for an expected opening in July.

    Completions

    7. Brinkmann Constructors, in partnership with Flint Development, announced the completion of Tucson Commerce Center. The three industrial buildings total 807KSF. Davidson Architecture and Engineering served as the project architect.

    8. Leasing is now available for two of Empire Group of Companies Build-to-Rent communities: Village at Paseo de Luces and Village at Schnepf Farms. Village at Paseo de Luces is located east of the NEC of 99th Avenue and Van Buren Street in Tolleson and consists of 272 units. Village at Schnepf Farms is a 144-unit Build-to-Rent community at the NWC of Rittenhouse and Cloud roads in Queen Creek.

    9. Caesars Entertainment Inc. announced that the $112M Caesars Republic Scottsdale, an 11-story, 265-room hotel in Scottsdale, has completed construction. The grand opening is March 6th with events already being booked for April. The 147-foot tall, 260KSF hotel boasts five top-floor penthouse entertainment suites.

    10. Talking Stick Resort & Casino held the ribbon cutting ceremony for its expanded Arena Poker Room. The room hosts 68 tables, 130 TV screens, a connected outdoor patio and a 24-7 restaurant.

    11. The Arizona Department of Transportation announced the completion of the US 93 bridge improvement project south of Wikieup. The $1.8M project involved work on Sycamore Creek bridge and Gray Wash bridge that replaced the top layer of pavement, new markings and scouring protections.
