Groundbreakings
1. Phase I of the 225KSF Gulfstream Aerospace Development in Mesa, which will serve as a West Coast maintenance/repair/operations facility for the company, broke ground last month.
2. Continental Properties has broken ground on Gilbert’s first Build-to-Rent single-family community – the 102-unit Avanterra Town Square development near Gilbert and Ray Roads.
3. Long-planned improvements at Tempe’s Clark Park, including a new pool and community center, restroom renovations, playground, sports field upgrades, and a community garden, will get underway with a groundbreaking ceremony June 10th.
4. Upgrades at Surprise Community Park are scheduled to begin on June 20th. Plans call for a lighted parking lot, new restrooms and lake and drainage improvements at the dog park.
Progress Reports
5. Construction is ongoing at West Maricopa Village, a 35-acre mixed residential development at the SEC of Loma Road and SR 238. Modular components for the FlatZ 520 multifamily components are being built in Chandler, trucked to Maricopa and assembled on site. The project is scheduled for a spring 2023 opening.
Completions
6. Arizona Water Company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month to launch its new White Tank Operations Center in Buckeye. The facility, which opened to the public June 6th, will allow for better customer service, operations and maintenance of area water infrastructure.
7. HonorHealth announced the completion and opening of HonorHealth Complete Care on West Waddell Road in Surprise. The 12KSF, $12M facility features emergency room and urgent care access, along with imaging and laboratory testing facilities.
8. The Arizona Department of Transportation has replaced the A-1 Mountain Road bridge in west Flagstaff. The new bridge was opened to traffic June 7th. Crews used an accelerated bridge construction method known as a geosynthetic reinforced soil-integrated bridge system, allowing the bridge to demolished and replaced in slightly more than a month.
9. Restoration and upgrade work on the Union Pacific underpass at Gila Bend Highway in Casa Grande has completed. Visual elements for the project include mosaic work depicting the city’s past, present and future.
