City officials and project representatives have already engaged in an extensive public engagement program over the development. The next item will be a public meeting to discuss the specific area plan on Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at Buckeye City Hall East, 945 N. 215th Ave.
Stated benefits The Landing will bring to residents include service contributions as:
- An economic growth center,
- An innovation incubator,
- Increased livability and community health,
- Multimodal accessibility,
- An entertainment and nightlife destination,
- Community sustainability and
- A unique housing option.
Local news outlets report residents have previously expressed desires that the area be walkable and offer a diverse set of retail and entertainment options, while also improving the area’s infrastructure and providing a range of housing options.
For the moment, City officials and their partners, including Matrix Design Group, continue to focus on public engagement. No meeting or hearing dates have been set for the plan to come before the Planning and Zoning Commission or City Council.
