By Great Hearts Academies In response to increasing demand, representatives of Great Hearts Academies have announced an expansion of its network of nonprofit public charter schools. Roosevelt Preparatory Academy is slated to open in fall of 2022 in Buckeye, and the doors of an upsized and newly built permanent home for Anthem Preparatory Academy will open for the 2022-23 school year. In addition to the two new builds, Great Hearts is also expanding its current Trivium Preparatory Academy to increase capacity. By Colliers Calgary-based APEL Extrusions has purchased 22.6 acres of land at the SEC of the new Loop 202 Freeway and Lower Buckeye Road. The property will be the site of a new 323.8KSF headquarters and manufacturing facility. Plans call for North America’s leading aluminum extrusion company to expand its West Coast operations to Phoenix in late 2022 with plans to move the company’s headquarters to follow. By Associated Builders and Contractors National nonresidential construction spending declined 1.3 percent in February, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data published by the U.S. Census Bureau. On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, nonresidential spending totaled $789.5B for the month. On a monthly basis, spending was down in 13 of 16 nonresidential subcategories. Private nonresidential spending was down 1.0 percent, while public nonresidential construction spending fell 1.8 percent in February.
