Butler Design Group, on behalf of master developer, Plaza Companies, has recently submitted plans to the City of Scottsdale for the latest addition to the massive 1.2MSF Skysong mixed-use project.
Skysong 6, also known in the architectural documents submitted to the city as Skysong 7, is planned as a new six-story, 340KSF, Class A office building and adjacent parking garage located on a +/-2.75-acre site at the SEC of the development on Scottsdale and McDowell Roads.
The building’s design will include vertically dominant exposed cast-in-place concrete and masonry and glass projections on the lower levels. “Various roof and floor level shading devices further contribute to the sustainable design strategy that will yield a LEED Silver designation common to the campus goals,” according to the project narrative.
“The development’s featured corner will create its signature identity element by cutting diagonally across the corner of the site with large expanses of glass and articulated metal panels.”
A three-story high open courtyard, with a fabric shad canopy showcasing the entrance, will cut diagonally through the building to create a shaded amenity space and an outdoor, fourth floor patio space is prominently displayed toward Scottsdale and McDowell Roads.
The seven-level parking garage, adjacent to the office development, will house a total of 1,361 parking spaces.
Plaza Companies is requesting site plan, landscape plan and building elevation approval from the city. Currently, no meetings have been scheduled.
A press release was issued in June 2019 revealing the design for Skysong 6 and announcing the start of pre-leasing.
