The Maricopa Unified School District plans to start construction on a new middle school in the next 12-15 months and hopes to have it ready to open in July 2026.
The MUSD Governing Board met this week to discuss hiring a design firm for what will be the District’s third middle school.
Arizona has allocated $31M to build the school, and the Board has tasked a site search committee to identify locations and make a recommendation.
One possibility is in the 175-acre Amarillo Creek subdivision south of the city limits. Developer Ashton Wood has land allocated for elementary and middle schools in the community. (Source)
