Downtown Glendale will be the home of Hilton’s first LivSmart Studios in Arizona. LivSmart by Hilton is the newest addition to the portfolio of 24 world-class brands.
The property will help provide needed lodging to support Glendale’s Civic Center for overnight conferences and events and the millions of annual visitors to Glendale’s downtown looking for modern, comfortable accommodations. It will also serve as a hospitality option for Glendale’s Sports & Entertainment District.
Arizona-based CivicGroup is the developer. “Hilton sets the standard for hospitality all over the world,” said Chris DeRose, President of CivicGroup, “and we are thrilled to be bringing their exceptional new brand to Downtown Glendale. This is a testament to city leadership and their revitalization efforts.”
Glendale City Council approved a ground lease agreement with CivicGroup, LLC for the City-owned property at 7120-7128 N. 57th Ave. in downtown Glendale. The property is comprised of four parcels encompassing approximately 28KSF directly adjacent to the Glendale Civic Center where the hotel will be developed.
As part of a long-term strategy to redevelop and build a vibrant downtown, Glendale’s City Council approved the Downtown Campus Reinvestment Project, now under construction. The project is the largest investment made by the City in this district, which will help support existing businesses and bring new investment into the city’s center.
LivSmart Studios by Hilton delivers an inviting hotel experience that allows guests to seamlessly maintain their daily routine while immersing themselves in the local community. Strategically located in the heart of Downtown Glendale, the new LivSmart Studios property will meet the distinct needs of guests with more than 90 well-appointed, modern studio apartment-style suites. Guests will also enjoy essential amenities, such as a fitness center, laundry facility and a neighborhood feel. The new Hilton hotel will also cater to the local community by offering job opportunities and partnerships with local businesses.
Chris Swan, managing partner of BRP, will serve as the project’s architect. BRP combines decades of broad national and local experience, having designed more than 20 other hotels in the state, most recently Caesar’s Republic.
Construction will be managed by Antonia Botero, who has built more than 200 branded hotels. (Source)
