Giving Back

1. MC Companies ranked as the third-highest food donor for Move For Hunger’s food drive nationwide with 10,399lbs of food. While the companies that donated slightly more than MC Companies each managed more than 85,000 units, MC Companies manages only 7,600, highlighting a much higher donation-to-unit ratio.
2. The HDR Foundation donated $324K to the All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program at Rover Elementary. This funding will cover teacher training and certification, a complete Learn-to-Ride curriculum, 24 balance-to-pedal bikes, pedal conversion kits, student helmets, a teacher instruction bike, and rolling storage racks. To date, the HDR Foundation has contributed more than $800K to All Kids Bike.
3. The Arizona Brycon team recently volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank. The team packed 1,872 Emergency Family Boxes and 1,800 backpacks.

4. Two of the 15 individuals selected as recipients of the annual NAIOP and Prologis Inclusion in CRE Scholarship for Young Professionals are from Arizona: Cassie Van Ess, Business Development, Wespac Construction, Inc., and Katie Hillowe, Senior Associate, Trammell Crow Company. This scholarship allows them to earn the NAIOP Certificate of Advanced Study in Commercial Real Estate Development at no cost through courses offered by NAIOP’s Center for Education.
5. Seven Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR brokers were honored at Crexi’s 2025 Platinum Broker Leasing Awards for demonstrating strong performance across engagement, search activity, deals and listings. Awardees include:

Boards & Commissions
6. The AASBO Board of Directors announced Jim Migliorino as Executive Director, effective July 1. The Board expects a smooth transition, as Migliorino is a longtime AASBO member and brings expertise in school business operations and dedication to Arizona’s education community.
Promotions
7. Eric Paulsen has been promoted to the COO of Kidder Mathews. He will now oversee operations across the firm’s 19 locations. Paulsen has 37 years of experience in the industry and joined Kidder Mathews in 2021. He had been promoted to President of Brokerage at the firm in October 2024, according to a previous announcement.
8. David Roderique has been designated as the Interim City Manager of the City of Buckeye. Previously, Roderique served as the Deputy City Manager. His appointment is to ensure City operations remain consistent.

9. Harvard Investments has promoted Nathan Shooks, Cayley Wade and Branden Lamb. Shooks, a two-year employee, was promoted to Director of Development. Wade, a three-year employee, to Senior Development Manager, and Lamb, a one-year employee, to Senior Financial Analyst.
10. Suntec Concrete has appointed Andy Snedeker as its Director of Business Development/Marketing and Jon Galvez as Marketing and Communications Manager. Snedeker, with two years at the company, will focus on building business relationships and identifying new opportunities. Galvez, a six-year employee, will develop and implement new marketing strategies.

11. As of March 28, Wheat Design Group has become a part of J2 Design. The two firms, based in Tucson and Phoenix respectively, provide award-winning public works design services. The decision to merge was driven by a desire to provide expanded design capabilities for both firms’ public entity clients in southern Arizona and across the state. Wheat Design Group’s existing staff will continue to operate in Tucson as J2’s Tucson office location under the name Wheat, a J2 Design Studio. Laura Mielcarek, Wheat’s principal, will continue to serve as J2’s Tucson Studio Director and will be supported by J2 Design’s principals Jeff Velasquez, Aaron Allan and Jason Touchin.
12. Tremco CPG Inc. announced the acquisition of HercuWall®, an innovative panelized insulated wall system, from Tempe-based HercuTech, Inc. According to the announcement, by combining Tremco CPG’s industry expertise and extensive distribution network with HercuWall’s technology, the acquisition underscores a shared commitment to building stronger, greener and more efficient structures.
New Hires

13. MC Companies announced the addition of Jim Cowan to its corporate team as Director of Capital Markets. Cowan has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate investment industry. He will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to raise capital from potential investors.
14. Harvard Investments added Janeen Hermanson and Riley Bayze to its team. Hermanson was hired as a Division Controller to oversee accounting operations, and Bayze was hired as a Financial Analyst to support financial operations. Hermanson previously worked for Taylor Morrison and Bayze for Vanguard.
15. Mark Bogard has joined Sundt Construction as Assistant General Counsel. With 27 years of industry experience, he will focus on the Water & Wastewater Group, Advanced Facilities Group, and Heavy Industrial & Mining Group.
Departures
16. Daniel Cotterman resigned as City Manager for the City of Buckeye. His departure comes as the Department of Child Safety contacted the Buckeye Police Department surrounding allegations against him. The Glendale Police Department is currently handling the investigation to ensure an impartial process.
