Progress Reports
1. Crews have begun clearing land for new travel lanes, removing sound walls and preparing the foundations for new bridges for the I-40/US 93 Interchange project in Kingman. This progress comes six months into the Arizona Department of Transportation’s $106M project to eliminate delays that can occur for passenger and truck traffic on the main route between Las Vegas and Arizona. Construction is expected to continue into 2027.
Completions
2. P.B. Bell introduced pre-leasing at its apartment home complex Everly at Morrison Ranch. The development is a part of the Morrison Ranch master-planned community on Elliot Road east of Recker in Gilbert.
3. 3D Barrier Bags Inc. announced the opening of its 22KSF manufacturing facility in the Chandler Airport Business Park at 1950 E. Queen Creek Road. The manufacturing facility will provide the company access to key markets across the western United States.
4. Banner Health celebrated the opening of its new primary care facility called Banner Health Center Pinnacle Peak at 7669 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, suite 220, in north Scottsdale. The approximately 10.4KSF facility marks Banner’s second Scottsdale-based health facility. The new facility will begin taking patients Jan. 14, 2025.
5. Falcon Field Airport in Mesa has officially opened its new Taxiway G. The taxiway will allow aircraft to route from the north runway to southern airport facilities more easily. Mesa cooperated with the Federal Aviation Administration and the Arizona Department of Transportation on the project. Woolpert Inc. served as the design consultant. Banicki Construction handled the construction work. The total cost of the project was approximately $4.1M.
6. The Town of Gilbert and Willmeng Construction celebrated the reopening of the updated Water Tower Plaza. The community space is in the Heritage District. Renovations of the 0.7-acre plaza began in January. J2 Engineering & Environmental Design led the design and Marc Taylor Inc. was the project management firm. The renovation involved underground infrastructure improvements and several new amenity spaces.
7. A grand opening ceremony was held for the Pilot Travel Center at 3075 Gila Ridge Road, off Avenue 3E near Interstate 8. The travel center features a Cinnabon, CAT scale, driver’s lounge, laundry services, showers and other food/beverage options.
8. The City of Glendale celebrated the opening of Glen Lakes Park on Dec. 4. The park was constructed on land that used to be home to the Glen Lakes Golf Course near 53rd and Northern avenues. The park features a walking path, a toddler park and empty space for children and families alike.
9. A.R. Mays Construction announced the completion of the Paradise Valley location of Flower Child at 12640 N. Tatum Blvd. A.R. Mays served as the general contractor for the project. The developer was Fox Restaurant Concepts, and the architect was Field Paoli Architects. The 6.8KSF building was valued at $2.9M.
