Groundbreakings
1. The 50KSF, $44M Mesa Northeast Public Safety Facility officially got underway this month with the City Council’s approval of a construction contract and the holding of a groundbreaking ceremony. Completion is expected late in 2024.
2. Mission Heights Preparatory Academy in Casa Grande held a groundbreaking this week for a planned expansion. The expansion will add five new classrooms, a gym, locker rooms and athletic offices. When completed, the new space will give the charter school enough room to add 100 more students.
Progress Reports
3. The City of Phoenix has received a $1M grant from the Federal Transit Administration to help implement the South-Central / Downtown Hub light rail extension Transit-Oriented Development Community plan. The project is one of 19 to receive a portion of the $13.1M awarded in 14 states.
Completions
4. Electric car maker ElectraMechanica commissioned its new Mesa manufacturing facility this week. Company officials also announced the 235KSF facility will serve as the company headquarters as it relocates operations from British Columbia, Canada.
5. Dimensional Energy recently unveiled its new $2M renewable energy aviation fuel production facility – known as the Dimensional Energy Tucson Technology Center – at the UA Tech Park in Tucson.
