Groundbreakings
1. Starting this week, the Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a project along a 22-mile stretch of State Route 260 west of Heber-Overgaard to improve roadway safety. The improvement project includes increasing the shoulder-width on each side of the highway by five feet, making guardrail improvements, extending and improving drainage systems and making pavement repairs.
2. On May 2nd, Concord General Contracting hosted the groundbreaking for Mountain Park Health Center’s new Glendale Clinic. Located near downtown Glendale on 71st and Glendale Avenues, the 27.5KSF facility will serve an estimated 18,000 people each year.

3. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley and Vista College Preparatory are investing in youth in the reimaged community surrounding Metrocenter mall with a new grade school (K-8) campus and Club. The organizations are completing an adaptive reuse of a 64KSF commercial building at 21st and Peoria Avenues in preparation for the opening in August.

4. Desert Senita Community Health Center has opened its new facility at Sunland Gin and Alsdorf roads in Arizona City.
5. The new South 1 Concourse in Terminal 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will open June 20th. The first phase of permanent restaurants and concessions will open later this year, and a lounge will follow in 2023. Food and retail services will be provided at temporary kiosks in the interim.
