Giving Back
1. Salt River Project line crews returned home earlier this week on May 8th after working on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona since April 2nd. SRP was one of 14 volunteer utilities from 10 states across the U.S. that participated in the ‘Light Up Navajo’ electrification project led by the American Public Power Association and Navajo Tribal Utility Authority to provide electricity to families that have never before had power.
Groundbreakings
2. Mountain Park Health Center has broken ground on a new $15M, 30KSF clinic at 6975 W. Glendale Ave. Opening is expected next spring.
3. Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Office Building III, a 45KSF, $28 project being developed under a partnership between Dignity Health and PMB LLC, has begun construction. Venn Construction is the general contractor, and Orcutt | Winslow is the architect.
4. Officials from the Salvation Army and the City of Yuma held a groundbreaking ceremony a new Corps Community Center on 4th Avenue. The center will serve as both a worship facility and food service and distribution center. The group hopes to open for operations within a year.
5. The Lohse Family YMCA in downtown Tucson broke ground last month on a $5M expansion and renovation project to add services and space.
Progress Reports
6. Sigma Contracting, Inc. completed site work and is going vertical with the 12.3KSF Arrowhead Endoscopy Center in Glendale, Arizona. triARC Architecture & Design is the design firm. Owner Pavasime LLC plans to open the facility this summer.
Completions
7. The Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass, located in the Wild Horse Pass District of the Gila River Indian Community, recently completed a $70M renovation.
8. Li-Cycle recently held a grand opening to celebrate to completion of its commercial scale lithium-ion battery recycling plant in the Gilbert Gateway Commerce Park.
9. Dominium and its partners will hold a grand opening May 16th for Solstice of Mesa, a 289.8KSF, 237-unit apartment complex for seniors at 307 E. Hawes Road. The property consists of 99 one-bedroom, 120 two-bedroom, and 18 three-bedroom units.
10. Ameresco has completed a new solar install on the Central Avenue Campus of Brophy College Preparatory School.
