Groundbreakings
1. Vestar announced the groundbreaking of Phase II of Vineyard Towne Center, a 260KSF retail center in Queen Creek. The grand opening is set for Fall 2025. Phase II is fully leased.
2. Lincoln Avenue Communities, in a joint venture with Fairview Housing Partners, broke ground on Cottonwood Ranch, a 300-unit low-income housing development in Casa Grande. The development offers two-, three- and four-bedroom floorplans, as well as a fitness center, swimming pool, yoga studio and dog park. Completion is expected in late 2025.
3. MYCON General Contractors, Inc. announced the groundbreaking of Tucson Rehabilitation Hospital, a three-story, 55KSF hospital in Tucson. The building offers 48 patient rooms and two rehab therapy gyms. Bourn Cos. is the developer. Construction is expected to be completed in summer 2025.
4. La Victoria Commons has begun redevelopment from vacant city-owned properties into a new housing development in Tempe. This project will provide a 104-unit multi-story apartment community, 19 townhomes and Copa Health Integrated Clinic, a health clinic with a community room and café.
5. A.R. Mays Construction announced the start of construction on the $5.3M The Henry – Uptown Plaza, a 6KSF restaurant shell with a 1,450SF indoor/outdoor covered bar in Phoenix. Fox Restaurant Concepts is the developer and A.R. Mays Construction is the general contractor. Nelsen Partners, Inc. is the architect. Expected completion date is January 2025.
Progress Reports
6. GO Industrial announced the first tilt panel was placed at GO|AZ, a 181.7KSF industrial building in Chandler. The project is scheduled for completion in October.
7. Anchor Health Properties has celebrated the topping out of HonorHealth Medical Campus at Peoria, a 100KSF, three-story multi-specialty outpatient center in Peoria. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2025. Additional companies involved with the project include DAVIS, ArchSol and Okland Construction.
Completions
8. Longroad Energy hosted the ribbon cutting for its $2B Sun Steams Complex, a 6,000-acre solar and storage complex in Maricopa County. The complex is comprised of three projects that total 862 MWdc of solar and 515MWac/2,060 MWH storage. APS has purchased Sun Steams 3 and Sun Steams 4. McCarthy performed the engineering and procurement and served as the general contractor for the three projects.
9. LGE Design Build and Echo Real Estate Corporation announced the completion of Echo Park 303, a 676KSF, two-building industrial complex in Glendale.
10. The Arizona Department of Transportation announced the completion of the Bridge No. 1 replacement over Virgin River Gorge near Littlefield. Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. is the prime contractor.
11. Maricopa County Animal Care & Control announced the completion of the 84KSF East Valley Animal Care Center in Mesa. The center offers 346 kennels and 21 yards for sheltered animals.
12. Fry’s Food Stores celebrated the grand opening of its second Queen Creek supermarket. The 123KSF store also has a 20-pump fuel center on site.
13. Mohave County Animal Shelter has announced the opening of its new 9KSF air-conditioned animal shelter facility in Kingman. The shelter offers 42 enclosed dog kennels and 32 cat condos.
