Groundbreakings
1. Martens Development announced the groundbreaking for its latest Class A industrial development in Mesa: Brickyards on Ellsworth. Their construction lender for the project is Principal Asset Management. Leading the construction team is general contractor FCL Builders. The development team is set to deliver an eight-building, 909.6KSF project with move-in-ready spaces for tenants in the Southeast Valley.
2. ARCO Construction Company broke ground on Phase III of the Level Crossing Masterplan development, a 150.6KSF industrial warehouse in Surprise. Hardy World, LLC and Silver Creek Development partnered with ARCO. Construction is expected to finish in early 2025.
Progress Reports
3. Developer Cole Cannon announced that Cannon Beach, a 38-acre surfing lagoon development in Mesa, is expected to host its soft opening in June or July. The surfing lagoon, called Revel Surf, will offer a stationary surfing wave, a tide pool and splash zone, cliff diving, a skate pump track and retail and restaurants.
4. Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise announced that Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks at San Lucy is on track to open by the end of the year near Glendale. The $450M casino will include 900 slot machines, 48 table games, a VIP lounge, a sportsbook and several food venues. The casino and parking garage are in Phase I, and a 350-room hotel will come in Phase II.
5. Work began at Cole Park as part of Tempe’s Country Club Way bicycle and pedestrian improvement project. The work will include a 10-foot-wide concrete path, an equestrian path, landscaping, lighting, a shade structure and a pedestrian-activated signal at Warner Road.
Completions
6. Valleywise Health held the ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new 673KSF medical center in Phoenix. The new $935M center stands 10 floors high and was funded through the voter-approved Proposition 480 bond measure.
7. Greystar announced the completion of Phase I of Gateway Grand, two 537.4KSF industrial buildings in Mesa. The Gateway Grand project will total 2.1MSF of space once completed. Jackie Orcutt, Kevin Cosca, Pete Wentis and Jonathan Teeter of CBRE are the project’s leasing brokers. Derek Builders is the general contractor and Deutsch Architecture Group is the architect.
8. LGE Design Build announced the completion of Crimson Canyon Durango, a 326KSF facility in Buckeye. Exxon Mobil is the tenant.
