    Awards & Accolades

    1. The City of Kingman’s Solid Waste Superintendent Ed Tapia, Administrative Assistant II Donna Alderson and Water Quality Program Manager Nancy Sipe have all graduated from the APWA Public Works Institute.

    Boards & Commissions

    2. The Goodyear City Council will no longer hold meetings on the second and fourth Monday of every month. Moving forward, meetings will be held on an “as needed” basis.

    3. The City of Peoria reminds residents interested in public service that it accepts applications for the City’s boards and commissions year ‘round. Applications are kept on file for two years.

    Company News

    4. Florida-based consulting and engineering firm Ardurra Group, Inc. has acquired and merged with Ritoch-Powell & Associates, Inc. RPA will operate as RPA, an Ardurra Group Company, from its offices in Arizona.

    5. Portico Property Management – a Houston-based firm responsible for more than 10,000 apartment units nationwide – is opening a Phoenix office. Running the Phoenix operation will be Executive VP Robert Hicks and Senior VP Trisha Roud-Satterlund, both of whom join the firm from Alliance Residential.

    6. Rental housing investment firm Greystar Real Estate Partners LLC has agreed to sell a 30-property, U.S. multifamily portfolio for nearly $3.6B. Eastdil Secured served as the exclusive financial advisor to Greystar. This resulted from institutional investors participating in a multi-round bidding process.

    Promotions

    7. Graycor Construction Company has expanded and promoted members of its Southwest Division office. Tim Hanifin, who in October was promoted to President of Graycor Construction Company, will provide executive oversight and leadership for the Southwest Division. Former Project Executive Rusty Martin has been promoted to Operations Manager. Former Senior Project Manager Geovanni Villalta has been promoted to Construction Manager.

    8. National planning, landscape architecture and branding firm Norris Design has announced the promotions of Jennifer Meyers and Greg Rowan. Both will now serve as Principals in the Phoenix office.

    Transitions

    9. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality announced Carlos Rascon has joined the Executive Leadership Team as the new Deputy Director of Operational Excellence.

    10. Charter Construction Group recently announced three new hires. Coming aboard are: Guy Parker, General Manager; Ken Mione, Director of Operations, and John Jeffrey, Project Manager.

    11. R. Shane E. Doherty has joined Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co. as VP, National Commercial Accounts.

    12. Becky Hornack has joined DCS Contracting as Marketing Manager.

    13. After almost eight years in the role, Eloy City Manager Harvey Krauss has announced his retirement. Krauss had previously served as Interim City Manager and as Community Development Director. Assistant City Manager David Malewitz will serve as Acting City Manager during the search for Krauss’ replacement.

    14. Buckeye City Manager Roger Klingler is retiring. The city is working with search firm GovHR USA to find a replacement. Klinger came to work for Buckeye in 2014 and was named City Manager in 2017. He will remain in the position until a replacement is found.
