Scottsdale is continuing to work toward a master plan for improvements to the Indian School Park and Tennis Center. Along with a playground, a small lake and recreational activity areas, the 50-acre park northeast of Indian School and Hayden roads currently offers several sports-centric features, including: Two professional level baseball fields, Two basketball courts, Four racquetball and four sand volleyball courts, and 13 tennis courts. A controversial bill currently making its way through the Arizona Legislature would make it easier to transfer water rights from agricultural properties to housing subdivisions and would overturn the 2023 ban on using groundwater for new home developments in Pinal County and parts of metro Phoenix if those homes are built on farmland. The Senate passed a far-ranging set of water legislation measures last week that will be taken up by the House in June. While nowhere near becoming a leading option, some Federal Reserve officials are floating the idea of another interest rate increase if stubbornly persistent inflation does not show signs of easing soon. Going into 2024, most market watchers were predicting three decreases in interest rates over the year. To date, none have been enacted and no target dates have been set for any. Katie Hobbs. The bill extends the use of horizontal Alternative Project Delivery Method contracts for another five years to 2030. The bill was unanimously approved.
