The addition of an $80M-plus indoor football stadium to the planned new high school facility continues to draw commentary about the Tolleson Union High School District. Superintendent Jeremy Calles says the addition could be approved in two-to-three months. No other metro Phoenix school has an indoor stadium, and opponents say the plan could create expensive future maintenance costs. City Council met Monday night to consider whether to enter into a potential armistice agreement or to authorize filing claims in a lawsuit to stop the plan. The City of Phoenix is planning to expand its apprenticeship program and make it permanent. In January 2024, the City partnered with local private businesses to create apprenticeship opportunities to expand the regional workforce. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company was the first private partner, and multiple other businesses have since joined the program. The expansion comes as the second phase of the program recently wrapped up.
