Awards & Accolades
1. An Arizona Department of Transportation project that constructed Loop 303 interchanges at 43rd and 51st avenues near Interstate 17 has been named as a Top 12 finalist in the 2024 America’s Transportation Awards competition. The $70M project is eligible for two awards: the Grand Prize and the People’s Choice Award.
Groundbreakings
2. Lincoln Property Company joined with project partners and local dignitaries to break ground on Phase I of I-10 International, a 373.8KSF, $75M industrial project. The property will total more than 1MSF at full buildout. I-10 International is located at the SEC of Alvernon Way and Los Reales Road. Brinkmann Constructors is the general contractor for Phase I. The design was a collaboration between architects Butler Design Group and Ware Malcomb.
Completions
3. New westbound Interstate 10 lanes opened between Orange Grove and Ina roads in the northwest Tucson area as part of a larger project to improve safety and traffic flow. Work is now 60% complete on a project to reconstruct and widen I-10 from three to four lanes. Work on the $171M project will continue through 2025.
4. Streamliner 16that 16th Street and Polk Road in Central Phoenix is now open. The property consists of 208 units.
5. On behalf of KBC Advisors Arizona, Stevens-Leinweber Construction has delivered Empire 101, a 153.1KSF industrial building with Loop 101 freeway frontage. The building is located at 8850 W. Sweetwater Ave. in Peoria. Deutsch Architecture was the architect, and Mike Ciosek and Eric Bell of Kidder Matthews are the leasing brokers.
6. The 136KSF Home Depot at 10072 E. Old Vail Road in Houghton Town Center in Tucson has been completed. The project cost $40M but received $2.6M in sales-tax incentives from the City over the course of five years.
7. The City of Apache Junction and Brookfield Properties have announced the completion of Painted Sky Park at Blossom Rock at Superstition Vistas. This is now the city’s largest park at 16 acres.
8. The City of Chandler has opened four new lighted softball/baseball fields at Tumbleweed Park.
9. Having completed tenant improvements, Dr. Kelly’s Surgical Unit is opening up a veterinary surgical clinic in Queen Creek. The grand opening will be held on Sept. 30.
