Groundbreakings
1. Littleton Elementary School District has broken ground on its new prep academy. Name recommendations are being finalized for the as-yet-unnamed school, located at 12050 W. Broadway in Avondale.
Progress Reports
2. An increase in materials costs estimates from $18M up to $24M has led the Foundation for Senior Living to postpone a planned June construction start on its proposed two-phase, 146-unit San Francisco Square & Aspen Lofts affordable senior housing development in Flagstaff. Originally planned for a June start, commencement on Phase I has now been delayed until mid-to-late summer as the Foundation raises additional funds.
Completions
3. The City of Buckeye recently celebrated the grand opening of the Jackie A. Meck Water Campus to provide reliable and safe water to residents. As subcontractor and lead designer on the Kiewit-Haydon Joint Venture, global engineering and design firm Stantec helped concurrently plan the water supply and treatment systems and design emergency replacement project elements for the first phase.
4. Phase I of the two-phase, $6.92M Glendale Avenue Sewer Relief project, which installs a sewer relief line, is expected to finish this month. Phase II will extend the relief line along 91st Avenue and connect to the existing system close to Cardinals Way. Phase II design is complete. Construction is targeted to start in 2024.
5. Digital real estate platform Opendoor has opened its 110.8KSF regional office hub in Tempe.
